Challenge

Brasil still has millions of families that live below the poverty line of 2 dollars per day. The city of Rio de Janeiro has more than 650 slums (favelas) where millions of uneducated single parent underprivileged women struggle daily to survive and to feed their children. Formal jobs in Brazil are scarce and the Covid-19 pandemic brought about a humanitarian problem where these women have no income, opportunities or a future. Millions of helpless women & children live with very little support.

Solution

By providing entrepreneurial education, seed money to begin a micro business and monthly mentoring to underprivileged single family women who live in favelas, we will be giving them a real opportunity to generate income and move ahead in life. Our monthly basic food supply will relieve them of this burden and provide nutrition for their young children. Our support will also give them a moral boost, increase their self esteem and their overall well being.

Long-Term Impact

In the long term we will be truly empowering these underprivileged women and opening up their minds to new opportunities to generate income through entrepreneurship. We will be demonstrating to their young children that opportunities do exist and that hard work and perseverance do make a difference. Finally, we hope to transform these women's lives by providing them with an opportunity to grow their micro businesses and provide an income for their families.
