Help provide continuous, life-saving maternal healthcare for women along Mexico's Costalegre. Our nonprofit, midwife-led clinic offers prenatal care, birth support, postpartum care, and newborn services regardless of a family's ability to pay. By ensuring that women receive care from a coordinated team throughout pregnancy and after birth, we improve health outcomes for mothers and babies while reducing barriers to care.
Families in rural coastal Mexico face significant barriers to consistent, high-quality maternal healthcare. While public services are often free, they are overburdened, fragmented, and difficult to access. Women typically see multiple providers, travel long distances for care, and experience delays that increase health risks. As a result, many women navigate pregnancy and childbirth without the continuous support needed for the best possible outcomes.
Our local clinic provides continuous, evidence-based and relationship-centered care. Women receive prenatal care, labor and birth support, postpartum care, breastfeeding assistance, and newborn care from a coordinated team of midwives and consulting physicians. No family is denied care because of financial hardship. Donations support clinical staff, medical supplies, laboratory testing, care coordination, and patient assistance programs that make comprehensive maternal care accessible to all.
This project will improve maternal and newborn health outcomes by ensuring that women receive consistent care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. By reducing delays, strengthening continuity of care, and increasing access to respectful, evidence-based services, the project helps create healthier mothers, healthier babies, and stronger families. It also demonstrates a scalable model for improving maternal healthcare in underserved rural communities across Mexico.
