Dear friends of the children,
Greetings,
About 258 million children and youth are out of school, according to UIS data for the school year ending in 2018. Currently, Pakistan has the world's second-highest number of out-of-school children (OOSC), with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44 percent of the total population in this age group. Gaps in service provision at all education levels significantly constrain education access. Their right to Education is being violated, and it is unacceptable.
Global Education Campaign believes that education must be prioritized to accelerate progress toward all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) against the backdrop of a worldwide recession, growing inequalities, and the climate crisis.
Global Education Campaign (GEC) is working with its sister organization Dosti Welfare Organization in Pakistan, to end illiteracy in Pakistan by 2025. The campaign started in 2019. I feel honored and excited to share that the Global Education Campaign has assisted 217, 513, surpassing its initial target of 40,000 students on their way to Education through One-Room Schools Program in Pakistan.
On average, Dosti is assisting around 11,000 students a month (Last quarter 33, 458 students were assisted)
The Goal - One million students a month
The program's huge success has made us believe that we can enroll around a million students each month to achieve our goal of an illiteracy-free Pakistan. This seems impossible for any government or organization. Still, the solution is crowdfunding and volunteering from supporters and volunteers like you.
Your generous contribution and support for children's Education are already bringing returns in their Education, development, and preparation for leadership and responsibility.
Once again, I am thankful to all supporters for joining us to ensure that every child receives Education.
Thank You

An estimated 22.83 million school-aged children were out of school in Pakistan before the nationwide closure of schools due to COVID-19. The school closure hit the poorest students the hardest in Pakistan, and millions never returned to school. More destitute children had fewer and less effective options for remote learning during school closures as they could not afford the gadgets required.
Dosti Welfare Organization (Dosti) started the "Mera Ghar- Mera School (MGMS) Program" (My Home - My School) in Peshawar, in which whiteboards were distributed among the volunteers who expressed the desire to teach at the homes. Later a few of the "Mera Ghar - Mera School" transformed into One Room Schools as children from surroundings started attending the MGMS. Since March 2020, Dosti has distributed over 6000 whiteboards benefiting more than 200,000 children nationwide.
The recent flood emergency has had a significant impact on the education sector in terms of school destruction and damage; use of schools as temporary shelter for displaced people; disruption of schooling and the ongoing academic year; loss of learning materials; and psychosocial stress experienced by children, adolescents, and teachers.
The prevailing situation creates the need for non-school learning spaces to facilitate the resumption of educational activities at the earliest. For the last three years, Dosti One Room Schools have proved to be the most cost-effective way of putting a kid on the path to education. A volunteer, whiteboard, stand, and mini chalkboards to start with, and the school is ready in around Rs. 4000 -5000 (USD 20-25) only.
With the generous help of its contributors, the Global Education Campaign is assisting its sister organization Dosti in Pakistan to ensure uninterrupted education for every child affected by the disaster on priority bases.
I am pleased to share that we have assisted 182,197 students and 4,638 schools (Formal and nonformal) throughout the country. We have been receiving unprecedented support requests from the volunteers who need Dosti's School Starter kit to ensure quality education for the most deprived students in Pakistan.
Your support is highly desired as after the Pandemic, devasting flood hit Pakistan and created a humanitarian crisis.
Join the Global Education Campaign's mission to end illiteracy in Pakistan by the end of the year 2025.
Thank You

With the generous support from its donors, the Global Education Campaign (GEC) reaches out to 15,930 out-of-school Children from February to May 2022. Dosti believes that education helps kids to fulfill their full potential. Through GlobalGiving GEC Raised USD 60 for the period rest is financed by offline donors. We believe that soon this project will get the attention of online donors who put #EducationFirst.
This period comes up with many promising stories like eight-year-old Noman joining GEC's Dosti one-room school located in the village Abdulkhad, about two kilometers from Landikotal, district Khyber, KP, Pakistan in February of 2022. This was the first time that he had sat in a classroom. He has done very well. His favorite subjects are Urdu and English, which he can read and write, Urdu more so. Despite moderately severe abnormal curvature of the upper spine (Kyphosis), he is happy to walk to the school in the morning. He hopes to become a teacher when he grows up. He enjoys playing cricket. His father is a day laborer and is trying to raise funds for surgery to correct his spinal deformity.
On daily basis, we reach 100 such inspiring stories where education is preparing the kids and communities to address the challenges of today & tomorrow. and that’s why, now more than ever, we must invest in education for the future of humanity & the planet.

Dear friends of the children,

About 258 million children and youth are out of school, according to UIS data for the school year ending in 2018. Gaps in service provision at all education levels significantly constrain education access.
Besides the devastating effects of COVID-19, children's education has been significantly hampered worldwide. Children are at a significant loss because of the lack of electronic devices such as notebooks and smartphones in most households in developing countries.
With its sister organization, Dosti Welfare Organization, based in Peshawar, Pakistan, Global Education Campaign started distributing whiteboards and stationery items under the My Home, My School program. This offer appeals to families concerned about their children's education. It turned out to be a massive success as most of these home schools transformed into One-Room Schools. As the demand increased Global Education Campaign started seeking supporters who would fulfill this tremendous and urgent need.
As we all continue to navigate the challenges of a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic, we were lucky to be accepted by GlobalGiving's accelerator program. And despite these difficult times, we have received generosity from our supporters; we raised $5,356.65. Global Education Campaign further magnified the funds by 4.5X.
I truly appreciate the thoughtful consideration and contribution of our supporters. As a volunteer-powered organization, we reached out to 22,829 marginalized students across Pakistan during October-December 2021. It gives me immense pleasure to share that the one-room school program also started in Afghanistan, and we reached 3,850 students and established/assisted 101 schools. We initiated a lunch program for the students of One-Room Schools in Afghanistan.
Your generous contribution and support for children's education are already bringing returns in terms of their education, development, and preparation for leadership and responsibility.
Once again, I am thankful to all supporters for joining us to ensure that every child receives education.
Thank You
Asif
