Education's Return in Remote Pakistan

Tirah Valley's school: 106 kids, bright future

Dear Friends and Supporters,

This quarter, we've witnessed remarkable progress with an addition of 52,761 students, bringing our total to an impressive 323,323 students. Dosti's efforts have resonated particularly in regions like Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.

One of the most heartening stories from this quarter comes from the Tirah Valley in the Khyber District of Pakistan. After a decade-long gap, a One Room School was inaugurated, enrolling 106 eager students. Notably, a significant number of these students are girls, marking a monumental achievement considering the challenges in the region.

The Dosti One Room School Starter Kits continue to transform communities. Dosti's flexible model has become a beacon of hope in areas where formal school infrastructure remains a distant dream. Schools are springing up in the most unexpected places - under tree shades, in open skies, and on house verandas, instilling a profound sense of accomplishment and pride in the communities.

While our impact is palpable and growing, we face challenges, especially in the realm of funding. Despite not receiving substantial support from GlobalGiving, our optimism remains unshaken. We are continuously exploring innovative ways to sustain and expand our efforts, along with continuous assistance from the Dosti Foundation to its implementing partner, Dosti, in Pakistan.

As we look to the future, we invite friends of children and education enthusiasts to join our mission. With your continued support, we aim to reach out to even more out-of-school children in Pakistan in the coming months.

Invest in Hope: Join Us in Educating Pakistan's Future Leaders

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Children,

Did you know that Pakistan has the world's second-highest number of out-of-school children, with 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school? Education is crucial to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reducing inequalities, and addressing the climate crisis. This is where our mission comes in, and we need your help.

Since 2019, the Global Education Campaign (GEC) and Dosti Welfare Organization have been working together to eradicate illiteracy in Pakistan by 2025. Our One-Room Schools Program has already assisted 270,562 students, including 53,049 students, in the first quarter of 2023 alone. With 609 new schools supported this year, we are making a significant impact, but much work still needs to be done.

Our ambitious goal is to enroll one million students each month. This may seem impossible for any single organization or government, but with your support, we believe we can make this dream a reality. Your contributions have already made a significant difference in the education, development, and future leadership of these children. 33, 458 Students assisted during last quarter

Dear friends of the children,

Greetings,

About 258 million children and youth are out of school, according to UIS data for the school year ending in 2018. Currently, Pakistan has the world's second-highest number of out-of-school children (OOSC), with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44 percent of the total population in this age group. Gaps in service provision at all education levels significantly constrain education access. Their right to Education is being violated, and it is unacceptable.

Global Education Campaign believes that education must be prioritized to accelerate progress toward all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) against the backdrop of a worldwide recession, growing inequalities, and the climate crisis.

Global Education Campaign (GEC) is working with its sister organization Dosti Welfare Organization in Pakistan, to end illiteracy in Pakistan by 2025. The campaign started in 2019. I feel honored and excited to share that the Global Education Campaign has assisted 217, 513, surpassing its initial target of 40,000 students on their way to Education through One-Room Schools Program in Pakistan.

On average, Dosti is assisting around 11,000 students a month (Last quarter 33, 458 students were assisted)

The Goal - One million students a month

The program's huge success has made us believe that we can enroll around a million students each month to achieve our goal of an illiteracy-free Pakistan. This seems impossible for any government or organization. Still, the solution is crowdfunding and volunteering from supporters and volunteers like you.

Your generous contribution and support for children's Education are already bringing returns in their Education, development, and preparation for leadership and responsibility.
