In Pakistan, 28 million children aged 5-16 are deprived of education, with 5 million in the 5-9 age bracket not enrolled in school. This crisis perpetuates poverty and inequality. The "End Illiteracy in Pakistan by 2025" project by the Global Education Campaign targets this challenge head-on. We are initially establishing new or improving existing Dosti one-room schools to benefit students. This effort addresses the educational gap and empowers communities with the tools for a better future.
Global Education Campaign provides essential resources to establish & support one-room schools in underserved communities utilizing trained volunteer teachers, ensuring sustainability. These schools, set up in available spaces such as living rooms, verandahs, or open areas, are equipped with initial supplies to create learning environments. Our oversight guarantees that the children receive a nurturing education & are prepared to transition into the mainstream school system at no ongoing cost.
By providing nonformal education to millions of out-of-school children, we're not just teaching them to read and write; we're equipping them with skills for life. Such education catalyzes economic growth, lifting individuals and communities out of poverty. It also nurtures principles of equality and democracy, promoting peace across the nation. This initiative doesn't just change lives; it has the potential to transform Pakistan into a peaceful, prosperous, and innovative society.
