The project continues to face funding constraints. Even so, agro-pastoralist communities along the Turkwel River are keeping their traditional farming practices alive.
Our original plan was to support:
800 households to adopt climate-smart farming methods
100 households to receive camels for livelihood support
150 women-led households to start sustainable businesses for better food and income security
100 elderly-headed households to receive monthly cash transfers, ensuring steady access to food
100 youth-led households to join Cash-for-Work programs that build valuable community assets
At present, we are still struggling to provide the necessary training and capacity-building sessions for all beneficiary groups. These trainings are vital to help communities understand, sustain, and grow their projects.
Save The Pastoralists Kenya (STP) appeals to well-wishers and potential donors to support this initiative. With your help, we can strengthen food security, empower vulnerable households, and build lasting resilience in these communities.
