Many vulnerable young girls in underserved communities in Uganda face poverty, limited access to vocational training, and few opportunities to develop skills that can help them earn a sustainable income. Many come from families with limited financial resources and cannot afford vocational training, sewing machines, or the materials needed to start small businesses. Karitas Relief Mission will train 156 vulnerable girls in sewing and tailoring, providing practical skills, sewing machines, and essential materials. Qualified instructors will offer hands-on training in a safe environment. Entrepreneurship guidance will help girls start small businesses, generate income, support their families, reduce dependency, and become economically self-reliant.
The project will equip 156 vulnerable girls with lasting sewing and tailoring skills, enabling them to earn income through employment or small businesses. Increased income will reduce poverty and dependency, improve family wellbeing, and strengthen community livelihoods. The girls will become more self-reliant and economically empowered over time for themselves.
