We believe in education as a way of generating better outcomes for the lives of all those who get it. Impulso Universitario works towards generating opportunities to receive higher education for young people in a situation of socio-economic disadvantage by providing financial aid and additional resources. Through our programs, the project also intends to create conditions for change in the communities of Yucatan, beginning with the students we support acting as catalyzers.
Opportunities for studying and professional development are scarce in Mexico, with only 3 out of every ten young people getting the chance to do so in university. Those who access this level of education may later struggle with permanence as they face several economic and social barriers leading to early academic drop-out. The project will address this by supporting our youth through financial aid, tutoring, and a comprehensive training program.
We aim to facilitate access to higher education for students through financial resources and school tuition aid. We also help secure permanence and completion for our youth by offering mentoring and tutoring. Furthermore, workshops and training are integral to our programs. We intend to provide students with social, life, and job skills to transform them into better-prepared professionals and Agents of Change.
During the 24 years Impulso Universitario has conducted its labor, we have directly contributed to improving the livelihoods of 915 people by creating opportunities for better professional and living conditions. The higher education provided and our programs' additional support and training intend to generate responsible and empowered professionals who become Agents of Change for their communities, driving further transformations to improve living conditions for all.
