Dear friends:
We address you through this brief report of project activities to strengthen 25 people in Oaxaca and Hidalgo economically affected by the pandemic and other affectations.
As you well know, our work consists primarily of reaching out to vulnerable populations to help them on their way to developing a dignified life through the generation of self-employment. That self-employment is generated by a business idea or a business currently in practice and most of the time still informally. That is why we help them notice the multiple advantages of formality to guide them to become empowered and self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
You must know that throughout September, the poorest areas of Hidalgo were affected by a series of floods that involved more than 31,000 homes and around 2,000 businesses that were utterly ruined. In November, the victims received their first support from the government. However, there is still much to do to support small business owners in the area. For this reason, we want to inform you that we will be directing efforts of this campaign so that the people who participate in these activities are those more affected. To do this, we have maintained contact with other social organizations that work in that area, which will help us get this help to those who need us most.
The funds raised so far are 443 dollars. Still, we will continue searching for benefits for more people who want to achieve a more dignified and productive life by creating and promoting local businesses.
We thank everyone who has contributed to this cause. We will keep you informed of further developments in this project.
Sincerely,
Patricia Larios
Executive director
