Promoting a Culture of Savings
A key component of Development Alert’s microloan program is encouraging a culture of savings among rural women. Alongside interest-free loans, beneficiaries are trained in basic financial management and saving practices.
Women are forming savings groups where they contribute regularly and support one another. These groups provide a safety net and foster accountability.
The impact is significant—women are not only growing their businesses but also building financial resilience. Savings are being used for school fees, reinvestment, and emergency needs.
This culture of saving is helping break cycles of poverty and dependency. Women are gaining control over their financial futures.
We are grateful to our supporters for enabling this holistic approach to empowerment and look forward to expanding these efforts.
