While education is at the core of our efforts to bring in greater inclusivity and mainstreaming the marginalized, however enhancing employability and the ability to earn so that children can continue to learn is equally important. We have been running several employability enhancement initiatives covering the youth, women, farmers, tribal communities under our umbrella program, Karigari, since 2002. Till date we have covered more than 15000 people under this program, training them on various skills.
Karigari,focuses on enhancing the employability of members of the communities that we engage with. Since its launch in 2002, we have trained more than 100,000 people on various vocational skills, in line with their interests to improve their chances of getting employed. Our training modules include,
Project Undertaken this Quarter has been unique in nature, that is teaching students Graphics through Corel, Photoshop and several creative. In today`s fast and competitive world, a Graphic Artist is most sought after profession.

Course impressed upon the students to look at this field as a Career options. Students understood the how learning these tools can be window to many kinds of Choices for overall growth in Profession.Students were able to create awesome colorful cartoons, Graphic Images of many kinds , logos of many companies etc.

When I look at the life of people around me, I get an overwhelming feeling of how privileged I have been after my association with Literacy India. Along Regular academics I am able to access other career growth Opportunities in my school time : Graphic Design Course has enhanced my subject knowledge. I feel empowered & much confident to face the future.
Pooja has seen a lot of struggle in her life already. She wants to bring a change in her family’s status and knows that it cannot be done overnight and only by getting educated and bringing substantial results, can that be possible. Her aim in life is now to be a Graphic designer and due to her interest in Art& Craft , design, she joined Graphic Class before school time – Photoshop, CorelDraw . She loves to create cartoons in Photoshop. She has learnt tracing, filtering and mas making in Photoshop. Pooja so far is keen in pursuing Photoshop as her career. She has become Expert in using all tools and able to work on images and create.
She joined LI 10 years ago in class LKG. Academically she is an average student who continues to put her best in order to keep improving. However the dedication and passion towards continuing her studies despite multiple challenges is remarkable. Pooja is a devoted student who shows up for her class regularly. She helps her class fellows whenever required. We are happy to see the simple girl progressing and wish her all the best for future.
Pooja is a 16-year-old girl studying in class X at Vidyapeeth School of Literacy India. Her family who moved from UP to Gurugram fifteen years ago know the hardships one faces to have a life with basic needs. Her father here works as a painter while mother is a house wife. The financial front is bad due to single earning member and large family with nine kids.
