Dear Supporter,
It is our 4th report, and we are excited to share the evolution of TIPA's action.
Since our last report in April, we faciltated 16 planning sessions with teachers and 137 creativity classes, in which 329 pupils and 19 teachers were involved. These creativity classes aimed at raising awareness of the children on their rights and the ways to respect the rights of their friends.
We also reached 79 parents between May and August, through parent support programme.
In collaboration with the school and parents, TIPA organised an artistic event at Vallijee Government School, where the kids were excited and proud to present their artworks to the parents that were present.
Here are some testimonies from the pupils, teachers and school Head Master:
"I was fine, I was happy. The parents were happy because I heard them laughing. I was happy when Ton Simon (Artist) came. I'll will draw him." Dayronne, pupil at Pre Primary Unit, Pointe aux Sables Government School
"Wonderful display of the pupil's artworks sharing their abilities and sense of creativity under the guidance of the art teachers. It is an aspect of the pupils that should be exploited furthermore." Eric Macka, Grade 5 teacher at Nicolay Government School.
"Creativity classes done in Grade 3 are helping those children who are having important difficulties in academic subjects to feel more confident in themselves." Head Mistress from Vallijee Government School.
We have exciting months ahead, as we will be involved in seminars with the Mauritius Institute of Education (for teachers training), as well as the creation of a toolkit encouraging children to share their achievement and ideas to improve school life.
On behalf of TIPA team, I would like to thank you for your valuable support. Do not hesitate to contact us for further details.
With gratitude,
Angelique.
