The people of Palestine have suffered unprecedented levels of destruction and violence over the past two years. Even under the current ceasefire, there remains a dire lack of food, clean drinking water, and medicine due to ongoing access restrictions. Families are displaced repeatedly, forced into overcrowded areas where there is increased risk of disease. The harsh winter is now further compounding suffering. Freezing temperatures, torrential rains, and strong winds make it extremely difficult for those living in temporary shelters to stay safe.
To address urgent needs across Gaza and the West Bank, Relief International is continuing to partner with Palestinian organizations, providing lifesaving support such as critical healthcare, malnutrition treatment, medical supplies, clean water, and sanitation.
In the face of terrible conditions, medical staff from one of our local partners go above and beyond to save lives. Dr Mohammed Salha at Al Awda describes one of the many examples of his team’s resilience: “The lack of fuel and oxygen forced our medical teams to use manual air tubes. For one patient, we administered oxygen manually for three days straight—that’s 72 hours without stopping. Can you imagine?”
Relief International is also continuing to deliver integrated psychosocial support, helping families not only survive crisis, but regain dignity, resilience and hope.
In displacement camps and shelters in Gaza City and Deir Al-Balah, we are creating safe spaces where children and caregivers are beginning to process trauma and rebuild their emotional stability. Children are participating in structured group sessions, using play, movement, storytelling, and discussion to explore emotions, manage fear, and resolve conflict. At the same time, caregivers are attending dedicated training sessions to gain practical tools to manage stress, support their children, and practice positive parenting under extraordinary pressure.
We are observing early signs of progress: children are beginning to show reduced fear and anger and more positive social interactions, while caregivers are reporting greater awareness, confidence, and small but meaningful improvements in family relationships. These changes represent initial steps in a longer process of recovery.
Today an estimated 3.1 million Palestinians across Gaza and the West Bank remain in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Alongside our local partners, we are dedicated to supporting communities now and over the long term.
Thank you for your partnership in this important work.
