The rate of COVID-19 pandemic has decreased; there are less number of cases infection reported in comparison to earlier but still the trauma, stress related to the pandemic is ongoing. KOSHISH have been continuously providing psychosocial suppprt through Tele-Counseling services. We have been providing services in all seven Provinces of Nepal.
We have been able to provide Tele-Counseling services to 42 persons during this period. As per the record, it was seen that most of the beneficiaries needed counseling services because of the uncertainty and fear of COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, though the pandemic might be decreasing in number but it can lead to post traumatic effect on the mental well-being of general people. Therefore, the ongoing tele-counseling services is must for longer period of time.
Through the support from different donors at GlobalGiving platform we have been able to provide the service. We are very thankful for the support and further support is required for working on mental and psychosocial well-being of general people.
KOSHISH has been continuously providing counselling services to the general people all around the country through toll free and online media. The uncertainty and increasing cases of COVID-19 pandemic has increased the mental health conditions in the general people. It has increased fear, anxiety, stress, panic-attacks, and suicidal deaths in the general people. The country was in third lockdown within the given time frame so the people experiencing mental health condition increased and the service seeking tendency also increased on that time period.
So far, (April 2021- July 2021) KOSHISH has been able to provide psychological first aid and counselling services to 79 persons within the given time period. The beneficiaries were satisfied and have provided positive feedback towards the services that they received.

The continuous spreading of COVID-19 pandemic has increased fear, anxiety, stress, panic-attacks, and suicidal deaths in the general people. The uncertainty regarding the pandemic has created barrier to the availability of services, economic opportunity as well as effected wellbeing of the general people. It has increased the need of counseling services to the general people.
KOSHISH has been providing continuous counseling services and psychosocial support through toll free and online media. So far (December 2020 - March, 2021), KOSHISH have been able to provide counseling services and psychosocial support to 62 persons. The beneficiaries were satisfied and have provided positive feedback towards the services that they received.
COVID-19 pandemic has continuous and adverse effect in the mental well-being of general people. The cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Nepal. While the preventive vaccine and treatment option are in development process, the COVID-19 has further led to mental health conditions such as fear, anxiety, panic-attacks, OCD, suicidal deaths, and a general effect in overall well-being.
KOSHISH has been providing continuous counseling services and psychosocial support through toll free and online media.So far ( August-November, 2020), KOSHISH have been able to provide counseling services and psychosocial support to 52 persons. The beneficiaries were satisfied and have provided positive feedback towards the services that they received.
One of the beneficiaries shared, “I was scared & hopeless and was not able to reach any psychosocial support but the tele-counseling services have been really helpful for dealing with my problems.”
The outbreak of COVID-19 and continuous fear of transmission of the disease have affected the psychosocial well-being of all the people. The cases are increasing in Nepal as well. Within a week of the beginning of lockdown, KOSHISH realized the need for psycho-social support during this pandemic situation especially to the persons who are already experiencing mental health conditions.
For that purpose, KOSHISH sought financial support for the establishment of a toll-free number and recruitment of psychologists to provide free Psychological First Aid and Tele-counseling services. KOSHISH was able to receive the project-based funding which aided to run the toll-free number through which the free counseling services have been running smoothly.
So far, 1024 persons have provided mental health and psychosocial support during this COVID-19 pandemic situation.
