Pandemic COVID-19 has brought a great isolation and psychological distress among people epecially the destitute and disabled people in this critical situation. We have found many of them have lack of food, supplies and even unable to recharge balance of their cell phone. KOSHISH, realized to support and link them for the needful services via telephone and has established a Toll-Free Number, so that the people can freely contact with us; we can listen from them and link with their emergency need.
The isolation and physical distancing are emotionally demanding process that may lead people towards a lot of distress and mental health conditions. Being confined at home, many of the families at this time have reduced income or no wages. At this distressing time, they are willing but unable to share their thoughts, feelings and health condition to the professionals. The vulnerable people are more likely to deteriorate their mental health condition due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
Through your support, KOSHISH will hire full-time five experienced and qualified Psychologists who will provide the service to the beneficiaries who are in need via Toll-Free number. They will provide Psychological First Aid and Counseling for free and also support to link with their emergency need. This service will be offered initially for 6 months and extended as per need.
This initiation will support the people in Nepal to maintain their physical and emotional well-being and enhance their daily functioning.
