New Students in 2021-2022 Academic Year

The academic year began on Mid July 2021 and the students started their studies from home due to the pandemic condition in Bali. In July, the case was increasing and the government decided to have the students study from home.

In the new academic year, YKIP admits some new students in Senior high school. There are 25 new students who will continue their studies in Senior High School. With the addition of these 25 new students, the total number of Senior High School students is 202. This figure is about 42% of our total students under the KEMBALI Scholarship students who are studying in Elementary school to Senior High School.

As the restriction is still on level 4 in most areas of our services, we have to postpone the donation distribution. Before the pandemic, the first donation distribution is usually held in August, just a few weeks after the students start their study in the new academic year. In this academic year, with a heavy heart, we postpone the distribution events to mid-September. next week we will start distributing the school supplies and the allowance to buy the internet package. We hope that this will help our students' families to cope with the situation. As soon as we have finished our distribution, we will send another update to you.

As the unstable condition due to the pandemic is persisted, we are grateful that we have such a kind donor as you who always support YKIP and our students to finish their education in Senior High School. Because of your support and donation, YKIP is able to continue our KEMBALI Program.

KEMBALI Program donation distribution

Scholarship distribution in Ubud

Dear Friends,

May this project report finds you well.

It has been a while since our last report. Now we would like to tell you the story from the field.

Starting on the first week of April 2021, YKIP started the 4th quarter scholarship distribution to the sponsored students. It began with the students in Kuta and Sanur areas on the 1st of April and then continued to Pengotan and Mengwi on April 3. We visited the students in Karangasem on April 5-6 to distribute the allowances to buy the internet package as the students are still studying online. We also followed the health protocol to avoid coronavirus transmission. Everyone should wear a facemask, washing their hands using soap and water, and keep a safe distance from each other.

We took a short break due to Galungan Holiday and then continued to distribute the allowance to the students in Gianyar Regency. The last scholarship distribution was on May 9, 2021, in Tejakula. Besides distributed the internet package allowance, we also took the measurements of the students' uniforms and shoes in anticipation if the students could go to school in the next academic year. In total, we reached 482 students from unprivileged familiies in the academic year 2020-2021.

The academic year 2020-2021 will be end soon, and there are 65 students finished their senior high school. On the other hand, 66 students will continue their education to senior high school. We hope that you will support us to keep the 66 students to continue their education in senior high school.

'Hello, my name is Novi. I'm from Denpasar. I study at a vocational school in Denpasar majoring in accounting. I am very thankful that God always gives health to me and my family. Because of this situation, we should always maintain our health ad follow the health protocols to avoid the coronavirus.

Learning activities are currently carried out at home, by the online system because this situation doesn’t allow us to study at school, so it costs more money to buy internet quota. My scores in class are increasing. Right now I just stay at home because I am too afraid of coronavirus.

After graduation I want to continue to work, I want to raise my own money to be able to continue studying in the next year. I have a dream. I want to be successful person and make my parent happy and proud because of me.

First Donation distribution in 2021

Dear Donors,

May this project report finds you well.

We would like to thank you for your great support to Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi. 2020 was a hard year for all of us, yet you continue your support to the sponsored students so that they can continue their studies.

We started the new year 2021 by conducting the donation distribution for the students. it is the 3rd quarter of the academic year 2020-2021. Started on the second week of January 2021, we have reached all students under the KEMBALI program.

Since the beginning of the academic year 2020-2021, the students are studying online from home. The online study is hard for our students because there are new expenses that occurred: the internet package fees. The students need to buy the internet package to be able to catch up with the material that shared online by their teacher. Before the pandemic where the students are studying at school, YKIP distributed some money for them to cover the transportation/pocket money, but since the students now are at home, the transportation/pocket money allowance now is still distributed but reallocated to buy the internet package.

Although the students are studying online from home, they still need school supplies to study. Thus we still distribute the school supplies, consist of writing books and stationery. In addition to the school supplies, we also distribute some books and comic books to students, donated by one of our board members. The students were so happy to receive the package.

As the health and safety of everyone in the project is the top priority, we conducted the distribution with a strict protocol. Everyone is required to wear a face mask dan they have to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before they enter the venue. They also required to keep a safe distance during waiting. We are happy that everyone obeys the protocol.

We are grateful for all the donations and support that we received until now. Your continuous support has given us the chance to continue this program for years to come. Also, we would like to thank our partners and sponsor who did a great job helping us during the events. See you again in the next report.
