I hope you are enjoying an easy, restful, and hopeful time with friends and family. How have you been celebrating this holiday season?
At Freely in Hope, we have been closing up the year reflecting on how grateful we are to commit to this life-giving work daily. From providing scholarships to child survivors of sexual violence, to teaching children about consent and safe touch, our team is tirelessly keeping kids safe from sexual abuse.
As our work has become more known in the community, the demand for anti-sexual violence education has increased. At the same time, our income has decreased significantly as the US is anticipating a recession. This year, it's been difficult to sustain the work that is so necessary to our communities of children, students, women in prostitution, survivors, and advocates in the field.
Next year, we hope to expand our anti-sexual violence education work in response to the increasing needs of our community—but, we can only do so through your support!
Since our inception in 2010, you have seen us grow from 1 scholar to 35 scholars across Kenya and Zambia. This year, the impact of our scholar's leadership has reached over 3,000 people through our storytelling platforms (we are still crunching our year-end numbers)! When you invest in survivors at Freely in Hope, the impact they have is community-wide.
If you have been inspired by the stories of survivor-leaders, we hope you will consider giving a year-end donation that will help us expand our lifesaving work in the new year. Thank you for believing in the leadership of survivors!
