Our self-perception forms the anchor for all our lives' decisions and choices. We have found that nurturing a positive self-image in our girls gives them the internal resources that they need to make positive decisions towards achieving their dreams.
This April, we facilitated a three-hour workshop for 60 girls at Stepping Stones Senior Girls School where some of our scholars go to school. We delved into the topic of self-identity - what it is, the factors that contribute to it, and how we can build a positive self-identity.
At the end of the day, it was encouraging to see the girls articulate their values and commit to living up to them. They also affirmed and encouraged each other, committing to create a safe space and holding each other accountable to their individual values and dreams. We're grateful for the support of our donors that make it possible for us to provide such tools to support the academic dreams of our girls.
