Thanks to You, Art Continues to Fight HIV

We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving and all the generous donors who made possible the 4th edition of our artistic exhibition "HIV: A Look Through Art." Your support allowed us to continue using art as a powerful tool for education, reflection, and the fight against HIV-related stigma and discrimination.

Since its first edition in 2016, this exhibition has become a vital space to engage the public in dialogue through artistic expression. This year, we were proud to see an increase in participation from artists and the community. Each submitted work offered a personal and powerful reflection on the biological, ethical, psychological, or social dimensions of HIV.

This fourth edition, held in alliance with Comfenalco-Antioquia, featured a curated selection of artworks by both emerging and established artists. Many of the pieces explored topics such as vulnerability, identity, the right to sexuality, and the importance of access to treatment and prevention.

Winning Works

  • First Place
Diana M. Velásquez "¿Por qué… Por qué no?"
A powerful and symbolic work that challenges societal judgments and opens a conversation about responsibility, freedom of choice, and stigma around HIV. Diana’s piece stands out for its visual impact and its deep emotional message.

  • Second Place
Desiree Santiago David Benjumea – "B24X9"
An evocative and reflective work that explores desire, identity, and the internalized fears related to HIV. With strong visual metaphors and subtle emotional tension, the piece invites the viewer to a deep inner dialogue.

This project is part of our ongoing prevention program, which has reached over 21,300 people since 2012. Our dream is to continue organizing this exhibition every two years, with your continued support.

Let’s continue walking the path of rights. Together, we can end HIV.

  • Segundo lugar
Desiree Santiago David Benjumea – "B24X9"
