Dear friends,
We are so grateful for your continued support of SiFuturo. Thanks to you, during the first half of 2025 we have remained very active in our mission to promote HIV prevention and comprehensive sexuality education for young people in our community.
What we’ve accomplished so far this year
Through our prevention workshops, we reached 513 students between the ages of 14 and 18, mainly from 10th and 11th grades. Some of these schools are located in rural districts of the metropolitan area, where access to this type of education is limited. In the second half of the year, we are excited to continue this work and reach many more young people, along with their teachers and families.
We continued offering family support workshops for households affected by HIV, as well as food aid deliveries that help relieve some of their daily challenges.
With great joy, we also restarted our music workshops in collaboration with Fundación Yamaha Incolmotos, giving children and youth creative spaces to learn, play, and express themselves.
New this year
In 2025, we added an innovative new dimension to our sexuality education workshops: connecting sexual and reproductive health with environmental care. Together with the young participants, we are analyzing the environmental impact of menstrual products and other types of waste generated in their schools. With the support of Fundación AKUO, France, this new component has already sparked meaningful conversations among students about how personal care and environmental care go hand in hand.
Building on the success of our educational exhibitions on sexuality education last year, we are now preparing a new exhibition that will highlight the parallels between self-care and caring for the environment—an inspiring way to multiply the impact of our work.
Looking ahead
The encouragement and trust we have received through GlobalGiving in 2024 have been transformative. They give us the confidence to dream bigger, strengthen alliances, and continue expanding our projects to serve even more families and youth in Medellín and beyond.
From all of us at SiFuturo: thank you for being part of this journey. Your generosity is not only helping us prevent HIV and support families, but also empowering the next generation to live healthier, more conscious, and more hopeful lives.
With gratitude and hope,
The SiFuturo Team
