The EcoChic Design Award: A successful finale

Dear donors.

The EcoChic Design Award just celebrated yet another group of talented emerging sustainable designers graduating from the competition from across Asia and Europe. Their minimal waste collections made waves at HKTDC Hong Kong fashion week at the 2014/15 Grand Final with Kévin Germanier taking the first prize with his up-cycled collection.

Throughout this most recent competition cycle we have experienced record numbers of designers viewing our educational ‘Learn’ platform with over 5,400 visits to our online sustainable design resources. Our tutorial video numbers keep growing with 24,000 views to date.

As we rapidly approach the 5th year anniversary of our competition and the launch of the 2015/16 cycle we are working to make the programme stronger to support more designers to develop their careers in sustainable fashion.

Thanks to the funds you have donated we will be able to develop our programme further including the establishment of an alumni network and the provision of a career supporting mentorship for one of our promising designers. Previous competition finalist Catherine Hudson has benefited from a mentorship though the programme;

'My mentoring session with sustainable designer Nin Castle was extremely valuable, it was so useful having a fresh pair of eyes look at my work. The critical feedback is something I will defiantly act upon.’ Catherine Hudson, The EcoChic Design Award 2013 Finalist

The EcoChic Design Award 2015/16 will launch on 15 April 2015 with an exhibition celebrating the success of our alumni held from 13 to 19 May at Hysan Place, Hong Kong.

Many thanks for your ongoing support to change the pattern of fashion.

Best Wishes,

Redress
