The Redress Design Award is a sustainable fashion design competition challenging emerging fashion designers to create clothing with minimal textile waste. The programme raises awareness of environmental issues and sustainable fashion amongst industry stakeholders, and provides designers with the information and practical skills to be part of the solution. In addition it supports emerging sustainable designers with career development and business opportunities.
The textile industry is one of the world's most polluting industries. The generation of textile waste is increasing around the world, largely because of the fast fashion industry in which more clothes are produced with lower quality and at lower price points, leading to greater consumption, production and waste along the entire supply chain. Many fashion industry professionals are unaware of the impact they have and greater education along the supply chain is needed.

The Redress Design Award creates an international platform enabling the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas between emerging fashion designers from leading fashion trade countries, inspiring the next generation of industry professionals to be the positive change the fashion industry needs. In the 2023 cycle, the project aims to reach over 14,000 students and emerging designers through workshops and talks and through our online educational platform and circular fashion pathway course.
