We provide our students with educational materials

By Karrus Hayes | Executive Director

The students of the Carolyn A. Miller School have been supplied educational materials which include uniforms, notebooks and etc. The notebooks were designed with the student’s picture at the front. The Ebola epidemic affected a lot of homes, communities, families and the entire nation. Developing a notebook with the kids picture at the front is to create a kind of feeling or a picture in them that will make them have deep love and desire for education and also erase that picture of the Ebola epidemic. The kids were really affected during the present of Ebola in Liberia. Students in Liberia sat home for over six months without education, association or any form of learning. We are happy that Liberia is now Ebola free but we and the students remain careful and still following of the instruction given by the Ministry of Education and Health Ministry that have to do with the preventive methods.

The kids are happy to be supplied with the necessary educational materials; it has been a very difficult time for their parents and families to provide educational materials toward their education. After the Ebola life has become very hard and difficult for almost everyone in the country but we are proud that we have globalgiving and all of those who continue to support and donate to this project that is helping the less fortunate kids in Liberia. The school has a very limited resource but we continue to provide free and quality education to all less fortunate kids that walk to our school gate. We continue to be faced challenges operating this institution especially when it comes to the building we are using for the school. The building condition is bad we always tried to renovate but have inadequate resources to do so and we feel that it will good if we can able to construct our own school and move out. But again, we continue to be faced with numerous challenges that is , we do not have the resources to do that right now. The land that was purchased by one of our donors remains setting. We will appreciate if our donors and supporters can please start to look into that direction we start small and can finally complete it. There is really a need for us to work together and start the construction and be able to move to our own site.

Let me use this opportunity to thank all of our donors and supports for the excellent job well done, love, and support they continue to give these kids. We want to say thank you very much and we appreciate your support and we want to encourage you to continue to support us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any question and we will be happy to give you and feedback. Please we want you to know that without your support we cannot run a free school.
