Educate 120 Girls in Cusco for Economic Survival

CW's final stretch of 2022 school year. BUSY!!

BUSY is not a big enough word as CW director Ruth and teachers scramble to get it all done in 2 weeks: final exams, parent/teacher meetings and student evaluations, plus. And the Christmas Party for 100 excited girls.

CW sixth grade students prepare to graduate and pass on their responsibilities to the 5th grade, next years senior class. The emotional transition from our CW school family environment is bittersweet, with hugs and tears all round after 8 years in the protective loving arms of CW. Young women now, they are ready for the celebrations and serious ceremony with parents. The presenter speaks of their maturity, earned confidence and academic preparedness that will open many doors for them going forward. 

Next March our graduates will enter the co-ed public high school prepared. They are automatically new members of the CW alumnae club for mentoring and support.

Planning for next year:
Meanwhile the rains came late, but prepared the soil to plant. Our parent group wasted no time and planted the potatoes for the CW school meal program that will be ready to harvest in 2023.
Our parents are really special! It took a few years for the trust in CW to grow and for them to understand the importance of educating their daughters. Watching the achievements of their daughters expand, they are puffed up with pride. Now every year after school breaks for summer, the parents will come when the school is closed and look at what might need attention (painting doors and repairing the cages for the guinea pig production (cultural source of protein) and then they organize themselves to do the work. Just amazing!

Birthday celebrations at home are pretty rare. So each month CW celebrates all the birthdays for that month. The Five year old birthdays are all celebrated together, etc. and combined with their promotion to the first grade - a BIG deal for our 5 year olds. CW has a stash of California donated clothes for moments like this. Excited, the girls get dressed up to eat cake and get a real happy birthday present - filled to the brim with Laughter and joy.

Our tuition based Maria School business plan to support CW school for girls going forward. 
Soon we will generate good income to support the Maria school as well as the Chicuchas Wasi school for girls as it reaches full student enrollment. 

Cusco parents who demand quality private school education for their college bound children, plan to educate them at very competitive foreign and national universities. We really need your donations for this start-up move for longevity success in Peru. This is the perfect business for CW.org as the demand is high here. Covid permanently closed down many private schools that were functioning unregulated in small rented buildings before Covid. The CW Maria school is a new beautiful modern and colorful primary school built to deliver quality education and welcomed by the Ministry of Education.

We engage students with a happy environment
The CW school for girls is buzzing with activity and serious classroom lessons, final exams, 6^th grade graduation plans as we hustle to get a lot done in the last 6 weeks of the 2022 school year. Add to this our Christmas celebration too.
 
Meanwhile, the new tuition-based Maria Co-Ed prep school is ready to give new students and parents interested in enrolling their children a tour for the start of 2023 school year next March. The Maria school is a colorful and modern primary school that will speak to children today - see images soon to have children. The school and classroom colors are bold with decorations for a happy atmosphere to welcome our first 4 & 5 year old kinder students. Last Saturday our CW Girls school teachers shared their artistic talents to decorate the new Maria school classrooms for a warm age-related welcome the little ones new to school. Chicuchas Wasi School for Girls:
Farther down the road our Chicuchas Wasi school for poor girls (at no charge to families) is super active with graduating girls meeting with alumnae girls now in public high school or University to share their stories of what comes after 8 years in the loving arms of CW school for girls. 
 
Maria co-ed School is ready to enroll new students this Dec.
Our last few newsletters shared our CW longevity business plan to keep schools financed in Peru. The tuition-based co-ed Maria school is focused on providing quality college prep education for boys and girls and generating the income to fund both Maria and Chicuchas Wasi schools going forward.

Many Cusco parents refuse the lousy public schools; they prefer to pay for a private school education focused on a solid foundation to prepare their children to compete for entry into the national and international private Universities. Our two schools serve different communities, and both are in demand and CW is known for the quality education and empowerment we provide. Public schools do not offer the level of education that Chicuchas Wasi is known for. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many girls.

The 35 years success of Chicuchas Wasi Org. nonprofit continues. Please we still need funding until the Maria school is generating enough income and we can say thanks for all your support - The Maria school will fund both schools" BUT not yet friends! This is the moment and the last couple of years needed to implement the promise of longevity and free education for poor indigenous girls in Cusco, Peru. We are VERY close! Please stick with us a bit longer. Financial independence for CW School for Girls is in reach! The ‘Maria co-ed tuition-based School’ will not only raise the funds to support the free CW school for girls and the Maria school – we will be providing quality education for boys and girls with our Chicuchas Wasi academic teaching style. Empowerment and respect for all is what both schools promise students along with confident young adults going forward.

The 2021 newly constructed Maria school was upended by Covid and the 2year lock-down of schools in Peru. Schools are now back with classroom education and the ministry of education has given CW the Maria school the green light to begin for 2023 school year. As more students enroll in the Maria school this will provide funds to add more teachers and grow the school and income. We appreciate any financial help you can offer to get Maria school off the ground.

I am sorry to keep asking, but our donations are down. Please donate any amount you can during this proces, so we are able to operate CW School for girls the next 2 years while Maria start-up operation gets going. 
*Proposed 2023 Chicuchas Wasi School Budget $158,908.40  Included are school meals and transportation each year.
*Approximate 2023 Maria School budget $25,000 is minimal; to start-up Maria school with 3 classrooms & 3 teachers, maintenance of school and utilities. As student numbers grow so will the income from tuition for the operations of the school. Parents provide the family meal at home and transportation.
