This project helps us tell reproductive justice stories through an intersectional lens. The stories of those affected by the dismantling of our fundamental rights to necessary healthcare must be told. We interview people across generations, races, and backgrounds about how reproductive justice has shaped their lives, their hopes for the future, and how abortion fits into a holistic reproductive justice framework. In addition, we share abortion news, facts, and up-to-date information.
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, the landscape of abortion access in the United States has grown even more polarized and complex. Nearly half the states have since enacted or attempted to enforce restrictions on abortion, while others have moved to protect and expand access. This not only fractured abortion access but also sparked a patchwork of state policies, legal battles, and political debates that continue to reshape the healthcare landscape and deepen divides.
Telling stories is the first step toward change. Sharing stories from pre-Roe and post-Dobbs can help generational divides and connect activists in a broad-based coalition. This is an all-hands-on-deck moment.
The project will bring awareness to how crucial it is to have the rights to choose and will bring new stories to light that illustrate why reproductive justice matters for us all.
