Curing kids with heart disease in southwest China

Due to the continued interference of COVID-19, fundraising for China California Heart Watch has shifted many of its fundraising efforts from in-person events to online. GlobalGiving has provided a platform where our continued online efforts allow for us to continue seeking financial support for underprivileged children in rural China with congenital heart disease who cannot afford the treatment that they require to live a healthy life.

Over the last twelve months, China California Heart Watch has raised nearly $25,000. Through a partnership with Fuwai Hospital in Kunming, Yunnan, your donations continue to have an impact on families who otherwise have nowhere else to turn. 

In the coming days, we will update everyone on the individual children whose lives your financial donations has impacted. 

China's government has taken major steps over the last five years to take on the challenge of supporting underprivileged families who have children in need of heart surgery. The rural insurance program currently covers more than half of the costs of life-saving surgeries for children. The goal of China California Heart Watch is to help those families who struggle to cover the rest of those costs. Parents are often left with a difficult choice to give up on surgerical intervention due to financial contraints. Your donations give families a chance to make a decision to give their children the chance in life that they deserve.
