Please celebrate this Giving Tuesday by donating to save the lives of children in Yunnan Province and supporting the continued work of the China California Heart Watch. Your donations directly support China Cal’s work: paying for life-saving heart surgeries for children in need, and supporting the screening program that finds the children before it’s too late.
How have your donations saved lives in 2016?
Meet Little Luo. Just this past month, your donations allowed us to provide life-saving surgeries that put Little Luo, who is now five months old, back on track to live a healthy, productive life. Little Luo’s critical congenital heart disease (pulmonary valve atresia) was detected because of China Cal’s newborn screening program and in October he underwent corrective surgery at one of China Cal’s partner hospitals. Your donations made this possible -- without our screening program, we never would have found Little Luo in time, and without your direct financial support, his family never would have been able to afford the necessary surgeries.
Little Luo was able to spend Thanksgiving with his family in Midu County. His young mother and father, who have a small orchard in Midu, called China Cal recently and asked to thank all of you for saving their son’s life. Please join us in wishing Little Luo a long, happy life and please donate [insert Global Giving link] so that China Cal can help others like him.
How can your donations save lives now and in 2017?
Shang Zhong, soon to reach his first birthday. He has serious congenital heart defects and your donations will go to pay for the surgeries he needs to save his life and give him a chance at a healthy future. His family are farmers in Long Chuan County and have done everything they can to raise money, selling their both their cows and this year's entire crop of sugarcane, but they are still nowhere near the 50,000 RMB that will pay for the surgeries Shang Chao Zhong needs to save his life. They have nowhere else to turn, and your donations will help save his life.
