THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION has been invited back into Cambiodia to help treat the poor and children suffering from blinding diseases at the Children's Surgicentre in the capital city ,Phnom Penh.
Our latest shipment of supplies for cataract surgery for the urban poor in Phnom Penh and surrounding rural areas, has just been gratefully received.
These medical supplies include donated lens implants and surgical materials, including special sutures for children with crossed eyes.
These sutures are use specifically for re-attaching eye muscles to a child's eye after the surgeon releases it in surgery to repair crossed eyes and ' wall ' eyes.
This enables the child to better fuse the image from both eyes as the eyes are straightened and re-alligned.
If done early enough , this muscle or strabismus surgery, helps prevent lazy eye or amblyopia , which is a leading cause of blindness in Cambodia children .
thank you all for your kind support in treating blindness in Cambodia.
Bless you,
