Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

It is halfway through 2019, and our reach keeps expanding rapidly thanks to those who support us. Due to this tremendous support, we have more IBIP teams and business partners than ever before. We could not have done it without your kindness.

Therefore, I would like to share a student's story of her experience with her business partner and how your contributions made this interaction possible:

"My journey at Leadership Initiatives began two years ago when I attended the Global Young Innovators summer program at Emory University. There, we were presented with a business from Nigeria which we would help during the entire week and ultimately give a presentation of our solutions. Because of my great work here, I was able to start an IBIP team of my own. For the past year and a half, my team has been working with Ms. Deborah and Unity Restaurant, helping her improve the problems presented to us. Some of our solutions that we have been able to give to Ms. Deborah are a new logo, new business cards, new flyers, and re-designed menus. Currently, we are working on improving her delivery system."

From this student helping Deborah and her restaurant, she has been able to expand, and therefore have the resources to help others in her community. All of our business leaders that we partner with are dedicated community leaders who - if helped - will offer jobs and support to other people in their community. This creates a cycle of change that continues to help generations ahead. As long as we give these people the help that they need, they will make sure to use that gift to cause change themselves.

We send thanks again to our donors and supporters because you truly make a big difference in our reach. By supporting us, you are supporting the people across the globe who are grateful for your contribution. Your generosity has helped us create more job opportunities for both community adults with businesses and orphans. Change can happen anywhere at anytime - and by helping us, you are affecting lives halfway around the world. Thank you again for all that you do.

Thanks,

The Leadership Initiatives Team

Dear outstanding donor,

Your support has allowed us to continue to foster the creation of small businesses in Nigeria that have impacted communities in ways unimaginable. We would like to share Falilat's inspiring story with you.

Passionate about her work, Falilat strives to provide the best service to her clients with quality-
controlled products and prompt delivery. Although many members of the community rely on her
services on a day-to-day basis, Falilat never disappoints. In addition to providing much-needed soaps,
Falilat seeks to improve the lives of others; she currently has 1 employ who is a member of her local
community and seeks to help even more.

Falilat is a hardworking mother of four. She studied chemistry at her local university, where she
placed special focus on the chemistry of soaps. Driven by her newfound knowledge, she decided to open
up her own soap production business in 2015. Falilat heard about LI through a friend and decided that LI
was the missing piece to her business. For the last three years of business, Falilat has been widely
successful, allowing her to provide her children with a strong education.

Falilat makes liquid soap that can be used to wash plates, cars, clothes and any dirty surface; her
products are designed for use in households, hospitals, and even offices. Falilat has established
partnerships with many local hospitals and offices, supplying them with soap and detergent on a regular
basis. Rising demand among communities has also helped Falilat expand her distribution to individuals
seeking quality liquid soaps. LI has helped Falilat by providing her with funds when she first opened her
business, as well as, stickers and flyers. Those funds enabled her to expand her business and hire an
employee. Aside from physical objects, LI gives Falilat motivation to set new goals and to achieve them.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. Together we are all making a positive impact that is sure to last for generations.

Best Wishes,

Your friends at LI

Dear Wonderful Donor,

Your friends at LI are wishing you a happy new year! We are looking forward to your continued support throughout this year. Thanks to your past support, Leadership Initiatives was able to continue it's International Business Internship Program and continue to make a positive impact around the world. Because of your support, Zainab, a yogurt business owner, was able to expand her business, employee others and move onto higher education. This tremendously benefitted her community.

An IBIP team based in Minnesota was one of the teams working with Zainab. When they first began helping Zainab, she only had a general idea of the recipe, so the students were able to meet up at one of their houses, and test out various recipes to make sure they had the perfect one, and write it down with exact measurements so that the yogurt would be uniform in flavor and texture. This consistency is hard to come by in Nigeria, where you can order the same meal at the same restaurant just a couple days apart and get something different each time. This became a real selling point as the team came up with a name, ‘The Golden Spoon’ and a slogan, “same great taste every time.” They were then able to come up with a logo and business card that Zainab would be able to use to further expand her business.

Due to your continuous support, LI is able to give high school students the opportunity to problem solve and consider cultures beyond their own while also positively impacting the lives of those abroad.

We are looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store!

Best wishes,

Your friends at LI

Dear Cherished Donor,

Leadership Initiatives is continuing to provide Nigerian business owners with the resources necessary to expand their businesses and provide new opportunities for their community. LI would not be able to do this without your tremendous support. These new businesses are allowing the younger generation to go to school and continue the cycle of positive change that you are helping initiate.

Fish farmers are just one of the many business partners that LI is working with in Nigeria. Through LI's help, local fish farmers are able to provide their community with nutrient dense food and also employ local community members. Family members of the owners are also able to attend school now and pursue better lives. Right now Shenu Gagare has more than 20 people directly benefiting from his business.

Because of wonderful people like you, LI is able to transform lives across the world by providing people with opportunities and connecting minds to create change. This change goes a long way and will affect future generations. Once again we would like to thank you for your fantastic support.

All the best,

Your friends at Leadership Initiatives

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

Today has marked the beginning of the first YDP summer program for 2018! We have a great group of students ready to learn and do amazing things in our Law program. Therefore, Leadership Initiatives would like to thank all of our supporters and students for making this experience possible. We could not do it without you.

In preparation for the summer programs and especially the International Businees and Leadership Summit, I would like to share a story from one of our students solutions:

"My experience with Leadership Initiatives all started at the Global Young Innovators Initiatives summer program. Before I attended this program, I couldn’t imagine that I would be working with an auto repair business located in Bauchi State, Nigeria, a town that has been attacked by Boko Haram. As a 16 year old kid who failed my only attempt to change a tire, I could not imagine I would be giving auto repair advice to Faisal Sa’ad, a man who had been working in this field his whole life. Not only was I able to give him advice, but my innovative solutions actually became a reality for my business partner. From this, I was invited to lead a team for International Business Internship Program (IBIP), that uses first-world students with easy access to technology to make a difference across the globe. Upon accepting the invitation, I agreed to create a team willing to make a two-year commitment.

Over the last year, our team has given instructions on timing belt replacement, inserting the stabilizer linkage, and inserting the driving shaft. In addition, we helped the business maximize profits, create a logo, and proposed advertising. My team has been able to improve Faisal’s business, and I hope that I can keep helping him grow his business even more in the future."

From these student solutions, we are able to create change in a vast amount of businesses located in Nigeria. This empowerment of businesses increases the infrastructure of the area and helps develop the city to prosper with the business owners acting as community leaders. If we are the catalyst to grow these businesses then they are able to help other individuals in their community by offering them a paying job or appointing apprentices.

I would like to thank our supporters again, because we could truly not make this happen without your support for us and for what we stand for. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and is going to help make international change in Nigeria. Thank you again!

Best,

The Leadership Initiatives Team
