Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

One exceptional partner of Leadership Initiatives is Jafi Security Guard Limited, a successful security company that provides protection in one of the most dangerous locations in the world. Their work has positively impacted not only their community, but the entire nation, as they have expanded across Nigeria over the past ten years of operation. The commitment and leadership of the business' team is vital in such a dangerous occupation, especially in the company's work environment. The workers' earnest dedication displays the overall mentality embraced by LI, and we hope to further cooperate with Jafi Security as each worker carries out their immense responsibilities.

In 2007, Jafi Security Guard Limited opened its doors with a total of 75 personnel devoted to providing physical protection for both individuals and properties with which they are partnered. The company's success has led them to grow their total work force to 500 employees assigned to various locations across the country. Jafi Security not only brings safety to a variety of areas, but provides many employment opportunities to youths that would otherwise remain out of work. The business also remains consistent in assuring staff welfare, even going so far as to provide necessary assistance for the dependents of the company's workers. The care and safety Jafi Security implements into the business and its surroundings gives LI the opportunity to safeguard a number of Nigerian communities.

Partnering with a business like Jafi Security Guard Limited is a great opportunity for Leadership Initiatives to continue making a positive impact within Nigerian communities. By providing business support to Jafi Security, LI is able to ensure that the organization will continue to grow, and by doing so further the protection placed across the nation. The commitment shared by Jafi Security and LI will continue to benefit the people of Nigeria as we remain ardent in our enthusiastic efforts to bolster the Nigerian business.

Meet Sara Albert (the Project Leader), McNulty Olivia (college Assistance Chair), Toner Bryon (Special Projects Chair), Emma (Media Chair), Sean (Fundraising), and Gianna (Nigeria Partnership) this is a group of dedicated students from Frank W. Cox High School located in Virginia Beach VA. Sara and her team are one of our IBAP students. The team is partnered with Danliti's Cobbling Business.

Danliti is located at Wunti Market, Bauchi Town - Bauchi state and have the ambition to grow a business that will be strong enough to meet the high demand in his community and in turn empower others to learn the art of cobbling skills as well as increase his income/profit. Before

Before Danliti met with LI, he ran his business as best he could, though with little profit and minimal impact. After his encounter with LI, his business became more opportunities to the youth and the members of the community. Today Danliti is known for not only the service he provides; but also the impact he has made and is making in his community. Danliti is the last child of his parents, he is married with two wives and three children, all attending school.

Sara and her team started with re-designing the face of his business by forming a business slogan for him. Currently, the team is working on another solution that will assist in expand Danliti’s market  through advertising by using posters. Another area they have in their proposed plan is to create a better financial management techniques and book keeping methods.

The support provided by the Frank W. Cox High School IBAP team to Danliti’s business is like “water to a drying plant” (right timing). It is always heart touching when you see some promising young leaders taking their position to reach out from one side of the planet called Virginia Beach VA, USA to another called Wunti Market Bauchi, Bauchi State - Nigeria just to make an impact on Danliti’s life and his family as a whole.

Once again everyone at Leadership Initiative's cannot thank you enough for your continued support of our programs and our dedication to creating a brigther tomorrow both in Nigeria and the United States.

You have our eternal gratitude,

The Leadership Initiatives Entire Family

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

Because of your generous donation, you have helped us to offer classes at the Regional Business Education Center in Bauchi and create 20 more self-owned businesses in Nigeria. In these classes, leaders and prospective business owners will be taught financial, personal, and business management. It will also be able to serve as a help center for problems and questions that arise. Essentially, this class will offer a 2nd year of business training, allowing businesses that are already successful to open up new shops.

When successful business owners replicate their original model and expand, more jobs and opportunity for a better life are created. Not only do these businesses help their own community, but also serve as a model for growth in surrounding communities. Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability.

This November, we have launched fifteen new businesses in Nigeria. This includes a TV repair company, beauty salon, cell phone repair company, and much more. Eight years ago, a man named Musa was taught how to tend to flowers while working as a janitor. Because of his commitment and love for gardening, Musa decided to become a full-time gardener. He has experienced great success, working for over one-hundred people over this time period. Because of his hard work in, Musa has the ability to support his wife and four children who are all in school. Currently, he does not own his own business, but sees this as an opportunity to do so.

Another great success story comes from a man named Ibrahim. Working in the Wunti Market in Bauchi, Ibrahim has been able to help take care of his siblings and lift the burden off of his uncles back. Four years ago, Ibrahim learned how to repair mobile phones. He took this acquired skill and decided to open his own business. On average, Ibrahim repairs five phones each week. This allows him to help his sister financially, so she can continue to study microbiology at the University of Bauchi. Ibrahim plans to continue to grow his business, helping his family any way possible.

Our end goal is to be up the economy starting at its roots. This would be impossible without your generosity. You have allowed us to continue our efforts and develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities.

Director of Operations Marshall Bailly stated,

"Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability. Previous leaders have sent their brothers, sisters and children to school, helped invest in new businesses within the community, offered new services to community members such as the disabled, establishing infrastructure for the future growth of Nigeria.

Leadership Initiatives will be regularly providing updates and insight into these projects as the month's progress through Global Giving’s reporting program. Of course, at any time you can request a project update to learn up to date info on how this project is progressing.

As a supporter of our endeavors, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate or have new ideas on how to develop our program please contact me at mbailly@leadershipinitiatives.org. Your hard work and intelligence is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone's heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff on the ground, a project leader, one of our Business Alliance student participants, we would love to set up a Skype chat for you, so you can personally see the change you are creating."

Wishing you the best!

Sincerely,

Austin Kunde

This November, we will be launching fifteen new businesses in Nigeria. This includes a restaurant, key duplication shop, car wash, and much more. In 2006, Isiyaka opened his own TV Repair shop. The business has been profitable and It has helped him finance the education of his children, both of whom are in nursery school at the moment. Isiyaka has enjoyed doing this business so much. He has even been able to send his younger ones to school. His younger brother just got a job in Bauchi and this makes him proud, to be able to give back to his family from his earnings.

Living in Dass Park Bauchi, Bilkisu is a twenty year old woman who just finished her final exams in secondary school. After graduating, Bilkisu decided to use her experience with perfumes and open up a business; she has been more successful than she anticipated, prompting her to continue expanding her business. With the revenue from her business, Bilkisu is able to support her family while being able to provide for herself.

Our end goal is to be up the economy starting at it's roots. This woud be impossible without your generousity. You have allowed us to continue our efforts and develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities.

Dear Cherished Donor,

As summer approaches, we would like to take the chance to express our wholehearted gratitude for your irreplaceable contributions. Over the past decade, Leadership Initiatives’ ultimate goal has been focused on fighting poverty by creating businesses in developing countries - a goal that would have been impossible to accomplish without your help; your efforts are the means by which we are able to make a difference.

In this letter, I would like to personally show you the priceless difference you have been making in the lives of individuals across the world. Although there are many success stories at Leadership Initiatives, however, I would like to focus one story that that has recently found its place at LI - the story of Rabiu Al-Hassan and his business.

The story begins a few months ago in a small auto body shop in Bauchi, Nigeria. Rabiu Al-Hassan had been working at the shop for three years and sought to open an auto body shop of his own. Rabiu found an opportunity after being approached by Leadership Initiatives; he worked for months on training his employees and polishing his management skills before opening up for business this year.

The auto body repair business is centered around repairing dents in cars. Rabiu and his employees work hard to ensure that every customer leaves with quality service. Their hard work and attention to details have earned them a strong reputation within their community and have build a loyal customer base, as a result.

His business employs four hard working individuals, providing them with specialized vocational training and a stable income. In doing so, Rabiu is able to keep young men away from the dangers that plague his community; many members of his community are deeply grateful for his work. Moreover, his business has also given Rabiu the capabilities to provide for his wife and six month old son as well as other members of his family.

Rabiu’s story is not an uncommon one. This summer, Leadership Initiatives will have twenty new businesses up and running. If you would like to learn more about our business creation programs, please visit our new website at www.lichange.org.  There you can find personal stories, meet members of the community, view photo galleries, or even set up a Skype call with a business owner!

Once again, we cannot thank you enough for your dedication to our cause; the help that you have given us has come a long way in helping Leadership Initiatives prosper. Wishing you, your friends and especially your family the absolute best this summer!

Sincerely,

Marshall and the entire Leadership Initiatives Family
