Walls are painted! Terrazzo is done! Furniture is in place! Computers are purchased!
The whirlwind of activity is slowing down for the school break during December and January. Phase I of the E-Library, with seating for 64, will be ready for the students' return on February 4th of 2019. The start of the 2019 academic year will have a beautiful space for study for students; with textbooks, research materials, and computers connecting the facility to the world. The community will be welcomed as users, too.
What a wonderful way to start the new academic year. Thank you to all who have participated in the fundraising to-date, which has provided the first phase of the E-Library. A few books from the former, tiny campus library will be moved to the new space along wtih those newly purchased texts and research books. The first ten Dell computers will be ready for use by the community and the students.
For new, the Parents Executive Committee, who provided the building that houses the library on the top floor, has toured the facility. The IT consultant. who generously donates his time, has helped purchase the computers. The doors will open when the students return and the campus is again fully staffed in February.
We will continue to raise funds for Phase II of the E-Library. A variety of books selected by the faculty, and the furniture necessary to provide seating for an additional 103 people, are all that remains to be funded. It can all be accomplished. This rural Uganda community will benefit from the E-Library for decades. A door has been opened to the world. Thank you for past and future support!
