A successful GlobalGiving fundraiser along with the acquisition of a grant from Loyola Foundation and other donations has allowed us to begin work on the e-Library at Bishop Comboni College Kambuga in Uganda. The Alumni have become active in supporting this endeavor. There is great joy in seeing the enthusiasm surrounding this project.
The entire top floor of a classroom building (344 sq meters) will be finished in preparation for the computers and furnishings. The space will serve the 610 students on campus as well as the residents of the community.
The walls have been sanded and are now being painted (see photos). The electrical work will be next. A terrazzo floor will be laid. Furnishings will be ordered and the computers have been selected. There is sufficient funding available to furnish half of the space, purchase computers and allow the library to open. We will continue to raise funds for the balance of the furniture.
The entire community is celebrating as work starts. Thanks to all who donated and made this possible!
