NUR Fatima Memorial System is embarking on a noble endeavor to construct a new school in Malikpur, rural Punjab, with the aim of providing access to quality education for underserved communities. This report sheds light on the pressing necessity of this initiative, drawing upon recent data from ASER Pakistan and UNICEF reports to underscore the urgent need for educational infrastructure in rural Punjab.

Current Educational Landscape in Rural Punjab:
According to ASER Pakistan's survey, a staggering 47.5% of children in rural Punjab are not enrolled in any school, with almost half of them being out of school entirely. Furthermore, class-wise analysis reveals a distressing reality, as over 76% of students aged 6-16 cannot read a complete story. These statistics paint a bleak picture of the educational access and quality available to children in rural Punjab.

Challenges in Educational Completion Rates:
The UNICEF education factsheet on Punjab highlights the disparities in educational completion rates, indicating that the primary completion rate stands at 66%, leaving a significant portion of children without a basic primary education. Moreover, completion rates steeply decline as students progress through the educational system. Middle school completion rates drop to 56%, junior secondary education to just 39%, and senior secondary level completion plummets to a mere 30%.

Summary: Our mission is to raise $35,000 to fund the construction of a new college building for underprivileged children in Malikpur.
