This project aims to build and donate mechanized boreholes to marginalized communities in Northern, Eastern, and Western Ghana. These boreholes will provide clean drinking water for 900,000 children, women, and people with disabilities who currently lack access to safe water sources.
Thousands of vulnerable children, women, and people with disabilities in deprived Ghanaian communities lack access to clean drinking water. They often rely on contaminated river and lagoon waters for survival, leading to high rates of child mortality from waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid fever, and dysentery. Additionally, water scarcity causes children to drop out of school.
This project will deliver clean drinking water to vulnerable children, women, and people with disabilities, ensuring accessibility within the communities. By establishing water points accessible to all, it will save countless hours currently spent by children and women collecting water daily. With access to clean water, the project aims to reduce child mortality rates and alleviate the issue of school dropout among children.
The project aims to enhance the health and well-being, promote quality education, and foster gender equality among 900,000 children, women, and people with disabilities in marginalized communities. By providing access to clean drinking water, families will save time and resources previously spent on water collection, thereby contributing to poverty reduction within these communities.
