Chinseu CBO Orphan and Vulnerable Children Feeding

INTRODUCTION:

Chinseu CBO Orphan and Vulnerable Children Feeding Proj. 9277, has been receiving funds from partners from the USA through GlobalGiving from 30 January 2012. Now the CBO has just received the second fund of $374.25 on 1 August 2012. Chinseu CBO is very greatful to this funds and it is the wish of the org. to continuing being transparent on day to day activities transactions.

OBJECTIVIES TO ATTAIN:

• To promote the best start and early stimulation in life for all children especiary the less priveledged Orphans.
• Promote the protection of children against any forms of abuse and discrimination.
• To expand high quality early learning and stimulation services for young children in Malawi.

REPORT CONTENTS:

Chinseu CBO Orphan and Vulnerable Children as an organisation is doin alot of activities to achieve the UN Millenium Goals and The Malawi Growth and Development Strategies more especially in minimising the high rate of  death among the young people who i many times left children as Orphans in our area of TA Kuntaja.

Chinseu CBO also is adopting these children whom their both / one parent died and they are at desparent, they have nothing to do in their daily life (Support).Chinseu is doing this by giving food to those children that are  Orphans and Vulnerables, School support to Orphans and other domestic supports.

CHILD CARE AND PROTECTION:

Chinseu CBO  is doing its best so that the children adopted at the Orphanage and those out-side the Orphancare center but within the area of TA Kuntaja are well cared and well protected from any type of child abuse, daily home welfare, This is child Healty and care, Child`s Nutrition and care.

HIV/AIDS ECD: 

Chinseu CBO is doing alot of this awareness so that the community should be aware of the impact of HIV/AIDS within our community of TA Kuntaja, especially on early childhood.

CHALLEGES MET WITHIN THIS PERIOD:

• Unsufficient funds on the Orphan and Vulnerable children feeding.
• Chinseu CBO has stayed for two to three months without funds from GGF that makes the management to continue milking an already thin cow and failed to reach the standard of feeding the children were supposed to be fed due to shortfall of funds towards the activity.
• The high prices of the commodities especially from the past three months , affects the buying of food stuffs of the Org.

SOLLUTIONS:

• There has been more awareness on the community contribution to the proj.OVC Feeding among the community around the org.
• Management is making sure no community is left behind on the projects updates this is financially and on the ground, this has helped the org. to still access the funds from the community allthough the economy is though in Malawi.

SUCCESSES:

Chinseu CBO is very thankful to the community who always being on the forfront of the management of the activities of the Org. Especially this feeding program one person can not manage to feed 60 Children.

SAD NEWS:

ON 5 JULY, 2012. Chinseu CBO lost one of its children ROYD PHIRI  died and buried on the 7 july, 2012. Royd lost his both parents some two years ago. He died after claiming he was feeling stomach pains after receiving Bilhanzia drugs that the Goverment of Malawi was giving to Children of 5 to 17 years. He suffered for almost five days.
