In Lunzu, Malawi, 100 orphans sleep hungry. HIV took their parents. Without food, they miss classes at Muonekera, Mlambe, Chigodi, Macheka, Malowa and Lachere Primary. In Lunzu many children have no mother and no father. Their parents died of HIV and AIDS. Now they live with grandmothers who are very old and poor. Some grandmothers take care of 5 orphans alone. What is the life of these children? - They sleep without eating nsima. Sometimes 2 days no food. - Morning they cannot go to school because stomach is empty. They have no energy.
Help to Stay in School: We buy school uniform, shoes, books, pens for all 100 children in the 6 schools I mentioned. For those who pass to secondary we pay school fees. Many would drop out without this. 3. Tutoring and Solar Light for Night Study: After school our volunteers help them with homework. Girls will not marry early. When girl has food at school and lamp at home, she stays in school. She will not marry at 14 years. She will be protected from early pregnancy and HIV.
