El trabajo que hacemos en Música para la Vida cumple 6 años en este 2019. Para nosotros ha sido una experiencia de muchos errores, aciertos, correcciones, aprendizajes y, sobre todo, mucho amor.

Nos hemos dado cuenta que a través del trabajo arduo y constante, hemos obtenido la confianza de muchas personas, empresas e instituciones que han palpado las habilidades musicales obtenidas y los cambios sociales e individuales para una mejor comunidad.   

Esto lo confirmamos cuando la compañía musical YAMAHA, nos ofreció realizar un concierto a beneficio con una artista de talle mundial: Lila Downs.

Se acordó que sería un concierto con la Banda Sinfónica MUVI y un grupo de músicos invitados. Desde los ensayos, la preparación, la organización y toda la logística, los niños y niñas participantes tuvieron una experiencia única en su vida. El evento tuvo lleno total y Lila Downs brindó a los niños y niñas del Sistema MUVI un gran cariño y admiración.

Este concierto fue el resultado del trabajo de padres y madres de familia, de los niños y niñas que participaron, de los maestros, del equipo coordinador y de una gran cantidad de gente que cree en nosotros y nos respalda.

The work we do in Music for Life is 6 years old in this 2019. For us it has been an experience of many mistakes, successes, corrections, learning and, above all, a lot of love.

We have realized that through hard and constant work, we have obtained the trust of many people, companies and institutions that have felt the musical skills obtained and the social and individual changes for a better community.

This is confirmed when the music company YAMAHA, offered us to perform a benefit concert with a world-class artist: Lila Downs.

It was a concert with the MUVI Symphonic Band and a group of guest musicians. From rehearsals, preparation, organization and all logistics, the participating children had a unique experience in their lives. The event was full and Lila Downs gave the children of the MUVI System a great affection and admiration.

This concert was the result of the work of fathers and mothers, of the children who participated, of the teachers, of the coordinating team and of a large number of people who believe in us and support us.

We thank you with all our heart, that, through Global Giving, you believe in us and know that music has everything to transform the world.

Cuando vas a un concierto de una Orquesta Sinfónica, por lo general te encuentras durante una o dos horas escuchando y apreciando la interpretación de cierta música que te puede generar un sinfín de emociones, te puede hacer llorar, alegrarte, hasta enojarte, o recordar, visualizar imágenes, colores, situaciones. Sin embargo, no somos conscientes de que ese producto es el resultado de muchas horas de trabajo previo, de un gran esfuerzo, preparación, tiempo, de muchas personas que han puesto su dedicación para ofrecer y mostrar algo especial.

Así, los días 19 y 21 de julio, Música para la Vida presentó dos maravillosos conciertos a cargo de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Selección MUVI 2019, siendo la más importante eventualidad del año.  El primer concierto se realizó en el majestuoso Teatro de la Paz, y el segundo en la Plaza Principal de la Delegación de la Pila, SLP. El programa musical elegido en esta emisión fue de una complejidad importante y una gran belleza:

-          Suite no. 2 “Romeo y Julieta” Montescos y Capuletos - S. Prokofiev ç Arre. Merle J. Issac

-          Bacanal de “Sansón y Dalila” – C. Saint Saens, Arr. Merle J. Issac

-          Variaciones sobre un tema original para orquesta Op. 36 “Enigma” Variación IX “Nimrod” – Edward Elgar

-          Sinfónía no. 5 en Do menor, op 67 Allegro con brío – Ludwing Van Beethoven

-          Bolero – Maurice Ravel

-          Danzón no. 2 – Arturo Márquez

Sin embargo, estos conciertos empezaron a prepararse desde hace 5 años -por increíble que parezca- y se necesitaron miles de horas de trabajo y más de 800 personas involucradas.

En octubre de 2013 MUVI empezó en dos núcleos: Ciudad Valles y Villa de Reyes, algunos niños y niñas acudieron por primera vez, muchos de ellos no podían decidir qué instrumento aprender a tocar, algunos dejaron de ir y otros decidieron seguir.

Los núcleos crecieron, hasta convertirse en 6: 4 orquestas sinfónicas, 1 banda sinfónica y 2 coros. Ante este incremento, más manos fueron necesarias: nuevos maestros, más alumnos, más donantes, más organizadores, más padres y madres… más comunidad.

Muchos de los jóvenes que tocaron en la Orquesta MUVI 2019, comenzaron su enseñanza musical hace más de 5 años y ese tiempo de trabajo, pudo notarse en estos conciertos de 90 minutos cada uno.

Previo a los conciertos, los 103 niños, niñas y adolescentes que formaron la Orquesta MUVI 2019, se reunieron en una concentración que duró 10 días. El nivel de disciplina y trabajo fue muy alto, se requirió una gran labor de gestión, organización y logística para reunir a los integrantes de la orquesta, procedentes de 6 distintos municipios, que además fueron seleccionados por audición.

Para los y las participantes, el Encuentro MUVI 2019 fue una experiencia única. Fue una oportunidad de conocer a otros y conocerse a sí mismos en momentos de disciplina, de estrés, de alegría y de mucho aprendizaje. El resultado, para ellos, no sólo fue el concierto, fueron todas las experiencias que llevarán consigo por sus vidas.

Sumando la lista de las personas que tuvieron que involucrarse para hacer posible esto, los padrinos, madrinas y donantes, son elementos fundamentales para que MUVI siga adelante. Para seguir teniendo instrumentos de calidad, clases comunitarias con maestros/as profesionales, un modelo de desarrollo comunitario y todo esto, gratuito, es esencial contar con un grupo de donantes personas, empresas e instituciones que estén convencidos del poder de la música y del trabajo comunitario.

Dando voz a muchos de los asistentes con quienes pudimos platicar, los conciertos sorprendieron por su gran calidad musical. El director, Armando Corado Judd, llevó a la Orquesta MUVI 2019 a una sintonía y equilibrio notables.

Las miles de horas de trabajo y las más de 800 personas involucradas fueron parte de un resultado fantástico que pudo constatarse el 19 y el 21 de julio con la Orquesta MUVI 2019.

When you go to a Symphony Orchestra concert, you usually find yourself listening and appreciating for 1 or 2 hours the interpretation of certain music that can generate endless emotions: it can make you cry, rejoice, even get angry, you can visualize images, colors, situations. However, we are not aware that this product is the result of many hours of previous work, effort, preparation and time of many people who have put their dedication to offer and show something special.

July 19 and 21, “Música para la Vida” presented two wonderful concerts by the MUVI Selection Symphony Orchestra 2019, being the most important event of the year. The first concert was held in “Teatro de la Paz” and the second in the Main Square of the Delegation of the Pila, SLP. The musical program chosen in this broadcast was of an important complexity and great beauty:

However, these concerts began to be prepared 5 years ago - incredible as it may seem - and it took thousands of hours of work and more than 800 people involved.

In October 2013 MUVI started in two places: Ciudad Valles and Villa de Reyes, some children came for the first time, many of them could not decide which instrument to learn to play, some stopped going and others decided to continue.

The nuclei grew, to become 6: 4 symphony orchestras, 1 symphonic band and 2 choirs. Given this increase, more hands were needed: new teachers, more students, more donors, more organizers, more fathers and mothers ... more community.

Many of the young people who played in the MUVI Orchestra 2019, began their musical teaching more than 5 years ago and that work time could be noticed in these concerts of 90 minutes each.

Prior to the concerts, the 103 children and adolescents who formed the MUVI Orchestra 2019, met in a rally that lasted 10 days. The level of discipline and work was very high, a great work of management, organization and logistics was required to bring together the members of the orchestra, from 6 different municipalities, which were also selected by audition.

For the participants, the MUVI 2019 Meeting was a unique experience. It was an opportunity to meet others and to know themselves in moments of discipline, stress, joy and learning. The result, for them, was not only the concert, it was all the experiences they will carry with them for their livetime.

Adding the list of people who had to get involved to make this possible, sponsors, godfathers and donors, are fundamental elements for MUVI to move forward. To continue having quality instruments, community classes with professional teachers, a model of community development and all this, free, it is essential to have a group of donors people, companies and institutions that are convinced of the power of music and work community

Giving voice to many of the attendees with whom we could talk, the concerts surprised by its great musical quality. The conductor, Armando Corado Judd, led the MUVI Orchestra 2019 to remarkable harmony and balance.

The thousands of hours of work and the more than 800 people involved were part of a fantastic result that could be verified on July 19 and 21 with the MUVI Orchestra 2019.

La Orquesta de Selección MUVI es un espacio en donde los participantes del Sistema MUVI pueden acceder y tener una de las mejores experiencias de su vida.

Esta Orquesta se convoca anualmente a través de una convocatoria y audiciones, las cuales después de haber sido revisadas por maestros/as, son elegidos 100 niños para conformar la Orquesta de Selección MUVI.

La participación con la audición de esta convocatoria es voluntaria y los que deciden participar, toman el compromiso que conlleva, ya que hay que preparase con antelación con pasajes específicos de las piezas musicales seleccionadas.

El trabajo, dedicación, esfuerzo, motivación y otras habilidades son desarrollados en este espacio de crecimiento musical y personal.

En el mes de julio de 2019, se celebrará la Semana MUVI, en la cual la Orquesta de Selección MUVI tendrá un Encuentro de 1 semana y un concierto final en uno de los teatros más importantes del país: el Teatro de la Paz.

Durante el Encuentro los niños, niñas y adolescentes participantes tendrán ensayos de orquesta, actividades recreativas, clases con maestros/as reconocidos y una experiencia mágica.

Todo este Encuentro y Concierto es una prueba de todo el trabajo de los maestros/as, alumnos/as, padres y madres de familia, personal operativo y personas que como tú, nos apoyan económicamente para hacer posible un cambio en el mundo.

The MUVI Selection Orchestra is a space where participants of the MUVI System can access and have one of the best experiences of their life.

This Orchestra is convoked annually through a call and auditions, which after having been reviewed by teachers, 100 children are chosen.

Participation with the audition of this call is voluntary and those who decide to participate, take the commitment that entails, since it is necessary to prepare in advance with specific passages of the selected musical pieces.

Work, dedication, effort, motivation and other skills are developed in this space of musical and personal growth.

In the month of July 2019, the MUVI Week will be celebrated, in which the MUVI Selection Orchestra will have a 1-week Encounter and a final concert in one of the most important theaters in the country: the “Teatro de la Paz”.

During the Encounter the participating children and adolescents will have orchestral rehearsals, recreational activities, classes with recognized teachers and a magical experience.

All this Encounter and Concert is a test of all the work of teachers, students, parents, operating personnel and people like you, who support us economically to make possible a change in the world.

Juan es un alumno del Sistema MUVI, comenzó a asistir a clases hace, aproximadamente, un año y medio. Hoy tiene 10 años.

Cuando empezó a asistir a la Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Comunitaria de Villa de Reyes, se hizo presente su carácter simpático, alegre y fuerte. Sin embargo, tenía una característica especial, solía aventar, romper o destruir cosas de sus compañeros/as, maestros/as o material de la escuela.

En el programa de Desarrollo Comunitario del Sistema MUVI, se busca dar seguimiento a situaciones o casos que dan indicios de algún problema social de fondo que trae consigo actitudes como estas. La facilitadora comunitaria de esta comunidad comenzó a platicar y dar seguimiento a Juan y después de algunas entrevistas y pláticas, se pudo dar cuenta de una situación de violencia familiar que se vivía en casa.

Al momento de hacer contacto con los padres de Juan, en todo momento se mantuvieron en una postura abierta al diálogo y mostrando un gran amor a sus hijos. Su padre aceptó el gran problema que tenía de impaciencia y violencia en sus actitudes con sus hijos. Por lo que decidió seguir con el consejo de la facilitadora y llevar a Juan a una dependencia donde pudiera recibir apoyo psicológico. Su padre, también aceptó empezar una terapia familiar que cambió radicalmente su vida familiar.

Después de trabajar muy duro personal y familiarmente por más de 6 meses, Juan llegó un día con su coordinadora muy emocionado comentándole: “Gracias, maestra, gracias por todo lo que han hecho por mí. Mi vida ha cambiado de una manera que nunca hubiera imaginado, estar aquí es lo mejor que me pudo haber pasado”.

Juan hoy es uno de los mejores alumnos de su instrumento, sus actitudes han cambiado radicalmente, su manera de socializar es mucho más tranquila, empática y pacífica. Su madre, en una reunión de padres/madres de familia, contó su testimonio, afirmando el gran trabajo comunitario que se vive dentro del Sistema y cómo impactó de una manera tan positiva en su vida familiar.

Juan is a “Música para la Vida” (MUVI System) student, he began attending classes about a year and a half ago. Today is 10 years old.

When he began to attend the Community Youth Symphony Orchestra of Villa de Reyes, his friendly, cheerful and strong character was present. However, he had a special characteristic, he used to throw, break or destroy things of his classmates, teachers or school material.

In the program of Community Development of the MUVI System, it is sought to follow up on situations or cases that give indications of some social problem in the background that brings with it attitudes like these. The community facilitator of this community began to talk and follow up on Juan and after some interviews and talks, she was able to account for a situation of family violence that was lived at home.

At the time of making contact with Juan's parents, they always remained open to dialogue and showing great love to their children. His father accepted the great problem he had of impatience and violence in his attitudes towards his children. So he decided to continue with the advice of the facilitator and take Juan to a unit where he could receive psychological support. His father also agreed to start a family therapy that radically changed his family life.

After working hard personally and familiarly for more than 6 months, Juan arrived very excited one day with his coordinator commenting: "Thank you, teacher, thanks for all you have done for me. My life has changed in a way I could never have imagined, being here is the best thing that could have happened to me".

Juan today is one of the best students of his instrument, his attitudes have changed radically, and his way of socializing is much calmer, empathetic and peaceful. Her mother, in a meeting of parents, told their testimony, affirming the great community work that is lived within the System and how it had a positive impact on her family life.

Concierto Vida para la Tierra

Una de las principales razones de ser de “Música para la Vida” es generar una transformación social que impacte positivamente en una comunidad.

El factor de cambio son los niños, niñas y adolescentes donde, a partir de su aprendizaje musical y social, puedan ser personas de cambio.

Una gran problemática social actual en San Luis Potosí (México) y el mundo es el cambio climático y sus implicaciones. Con este problema en mente, desarrollamos junto con los niños y niñas una serie de actividades para ser conscientes de las necesidades de la tierra, de la contaminación, de la destrucción, explotación e indiferencia con el mundo.

Tuvimos unas pláticas sobre la contaminación del agua, del aire, las grandes cantidades de basura, entre otras cosas. De esta actividad los niños y niñas se encontraban muy preocupados por conocer la realidad de nuestra naturaleza y proponían acciones para poder transformar esta crisis en la que vivimos. Una de estas acciones es generar conciencia sobre estos problemas, por lo que realizaron carteles y dibujos para comunicar su sentir.

Concluimos esta serie de eventos con un concierto llamado “Vida para la Tierra”. Participando niños y niñas de 7 comunidades de San Luis Potosí, México, tuvimos un concierto que verdaderamente transformó la comunidad de Música para la Vida.

Concert Life for Earth

One of the main reasons for being "Music for Life" is to generate a social transformation that positively impacts a community.

The change factor are the children and adolescents, from their musical and social learning, they can be people of change.

A major current social problem in San Luis Potosí (Mexico) and the world, is climate change and its implications. With this problem in mind, we developed together with the children, a series of activities to be aware of the needs of the earth, of pollution, of destruction, exploitation and indifference with the world.

We had some talks about the contamination of water, air, large amounts of garbage, among other things. From this activity the children were very concerned to know the reality of our nature and proposed actions to be able to transform this crisis in which we live. One of these actions is to raise awareness about these problems, so they made posters and drawings to communicate their feelings.

We conclude this series of events with a concert called "Life for the Earth". Participating children from 7 communities in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, we had a concert that truly transformed the Music for Life community.
