Marcel is already in the 5th grade.
Trust us; it’s hard to believe that at the beginning of his school years he could hardly stay in the classroom, hiding under his desk and sitting there in a very autistic manner not willing to communicate his feelings.
Now he is not just a regular classmate to his neurotypical peers, but a real friend to many of them.
During the recess, they are doing crosswords together. They are spending after-school time by going to museums and theaters and field trips and walks around the city - Marsel side-by-side with his classmates.
And he works hard to keep up with them during the classes, especially those related to nature and wildlife (his favorite topic). Not a long time ago he made a presentation to the class. It was titled “The animal kingdom.” Can you Imagine! Marcel got the highest grade for it.
He was lecturing with enthusiasm and showing the deep knowledge of the subject.
He also won applause from other kids.
We are very proud of Marcel.
In our inclusion project, 22 kids with autism and other disabilities are learning to learn, communicate and live side-by-side with their neurotypical peers.
Thank you for your donations from Marcel and us.
