At Teach by Tech we believe that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to build a better life. We are expanding our workforce training programs to the manufacturing and the construction sectors. Our program covers ESL, digital literacy, soft skills, and technical skills. Our essential workforce training programs for adult refugees and immigrants, enable them to integrate into their new communities, find stable employment, and achieve self-sufficiency.
The refugee/immigrant population is a talent pool often overlooked as a potential to fulfill Colorado's growing skilled labor needs. In addition to job losses from COVID-19, refugees and immigrants generally face many barriers to employment and advancement leading to lower wages, unemployment, under-employment, and exploitation in the workplace.
For adult refugees and immigrants, access to education and job opportunities is often limited. By providing workforce training, we empower them with the skills and knowledge they need. Our programs integrate language acquisition, digital literacy, soft skills and technical skills training which are all needed for success on the job and to increase job readiness and opportunities for advancement.
Acquiring language and technical skills increases the employability of our 40 participants. They become eligible for a wider range of jobs and careers, often leading to better job security and higher wages. As refugees secure employment, they become active contributors to their new communities, which can foster goodwill and diversity within those communities. Successful participants can serve as role models for others in their communities, inspiring them to pursue similar pathways.
