From Blueprint to Running Water

Installation of water pipes
Installation of water pipes

A few months ago, the students of a school in Lugoba - Tanzania had a dream: to drink clean, safe water at school without a long wait or a long walk. Today, that dream is flowing from real taps.

Thanks to our generous donors and the GlobalGiving community, we have moved from planning into action, and the results are already visible on the school grounds.

What We Have Achieved

  • 15 taps re-installed and are being used by students already.
  • The sink restored, giving students a proper place to drink water,  wash their hands and to support other hygenic activities.
  • A 5,000-litre water tank installed to store a steady supply for the school
  • A full pipe network connecting the main tap, the storage tank and the student water points

How It Happened

The site survey. Our team spent a week at the school with experienced plumbers, walking the grounds and studying the water supply needs. Together we mapped the best pipe routes and decided how water should travel from the main tap, to the storage tank, and on to the collection points. We paid special attention to making every water point easy and safe for children to reach.

The installation. With a clear technical plan, work began. The first pipes connected the main tap to the storage tank and laid out the network that now feeds the taps. The plumbers’ guidance kept the work practical and well built. Teachers and students stayed at the center of every decision.

See the smiles restored here

The best measure of this project is the reaction of the children. They are happy, and you can see it. Where water once meant waiting and worry, it now means a quick drink, clean hands and more time in the classroom. Safe water supports better health, better attendance and better learning.

The Road Ahead

Progress is real, but so is the need. With more than 2,000 students sharing one school, 15 taps and a 5,000-litre tank are a strong beginning, not the finish line. Our next goals are to:

  1. Install more taps so queues are shorter and every child can drink easily
  2. Add at least two more storage tanks so water is available all day, every day
  3. Keep checking the system so it stays safe and reliable

Thank You So Much.

To every donor: your kindness is more than pipes and taps. It is health, dignity and hope for more than 2,000 young people. Thank you for believing in our work.

To the GlobalGiving team: thank you for building a platform that connects caring people around the world with communities that need them. Because of you, a shared vision is becoming real change.

Please, Stand With Us a Little Longer.

We are closer than ever to a Lugoba where every student can drink safe water and learn in peace. We invite you to keep supporting us as we finish what we started. Every contribution adds taps, fills tanks and brings a child closer to a healthy, confident future.

Together, we are bringing clean water, and with it hope, to Lugoba.
