EVOLUTION OF THE WORK SINCE OUR INTEGRATION IN THE NEW CENTER

The youth and educators entered the AGAPE Center at the beginning of August of this year. The center had neither doors nor windows. But today, we observe a great evolution on the site. A cesspool has been dug and poured. The septic tank has also been poured. The metal doors have been completely installed on the basement compartment. The locks are also almost completely installed. The tiles are 90% installed in the basement. The sinks are under construction in the kitchens.

The move was done with 10 young people. But after one month of living in Japoma, we were obliged to separate a child who had difficulty observing the rules of living together in an institution. The other 9 children have returned to school. Their first evaluations will start soon.

Overall, we can estimate the progress of the work at Japoma at 70%. We need your help more than ever to make the house completely safe in order to limit the diseases that constantly strike the children because of the frequent mosquito bites.

A visit to the construction site shows the progress of the work. The escape of the great hall began on January 13 and will continue in all the other rooms of the basement of the building. The plastering of the walls of the other rooms had already been done. It is now a matter of squirting the walls of the traditional kitchen and installing the level cleats.

The preparatory work for the paving of the basement is completely done. The trails are laid with a view to leveling the paving. The team is waiting for electricians and plumbers for the passage of pipes and ducts before laying concrete on the ground.

The material for the paving is already available. These are cement, sand and gravel.

Connection work has started on the ground floor. It is more precisely the removal of planks passed through the walls whose purpose was to assemble the scaffolding. Once the boards have been removed, the holes are filled with concrete.

Planning to integrate the Center in Japoma during the school vacation period, we requested the services of a dowser who was to locate an abundant water crossing point, since we are considering the installation of a borehole.

As you can see, If we are at this level with this construction, it is thanks to your multiple supports. But much remains to be done to make this house habitable. It is for this reason that we implore your kindness to complete this building. Donate here: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/build-safe-refuge-home-street-vulnerable-kids-children/

The construction project for the new AGAPE Center is continuing. It has maked a significant progress, but enough resources are still needed.

Thanks to the actions of our main French partner SOLENCA (SOLidarité ENfance CAmeroun) who has supported us in this project since its inception, as well as to the altruism of those who support us, we have succeeded in mobilizing over the past three months, the sum of 9 245 000 XAF or 34 425.44 USD.

This brings us the total amount mobilized from 46 341 494 XAF or 82 895.62 USD to the sum o 55 586 494 XAF or 99 433.06 USD

For the structural work valued at the sum of 66 682 988 XAF or 114,391.48 USD, we still need the sum of 11 096 494 XAF or 19 849.40 USD.

The finishing work is valued at 41,048,812 XAF or 70,417.810 USD

We have therefore already mobilized the sum of 55 586 494 XAF or 99 433.06 USD on the 107 731 799 XAF or 192 710.53 USD. We still have to raise the sum of 52 145 305 XAF or 93 277.47 USD for the project.

We know you are having a tough time, just like anywhere else in the world. And given the level of achievement of this project, we continue to cherish more and more this dream which, over the days, becomes a reality.

We will never stop thanking you for your many contributions, although we still have your invaluable support to carry out this project, in order to better change and transform lives.

Thank you for thinking of us. We are counting on you !!!

In view of some difficulties encountered in the field, the construction project for the new AGAPE Center had to stop for a moment. This so that we find solutions, to readjust things. It took a little while. But all things considered, the works ended up restarting at the end of March.

The work has progressed quite well so far. The company in charge of the site, works very well and quickly. Certainly because she wants to be able to complete the phase representing the structural work, before the arrival of the great rains. The ideal for her would be to achieve this no later than the end of July.

It is true that we are all very happy to see the work progress. And we know we owe it to your steadfast support. Thanks to you, our dream is becoming more and more a reality every day, although we know that the current global health context does not make things easier for anyone. Likewise for you, our main supporters. But that doesn't stop us from remaining optimistic and confident, because we know we can always count on you. Because after the storm always comes good weather.

Things are going well, but we are still in need and looking for funds. We have not yet managed to mobilize the entire amount necessary to complete the work until its completion. And it should be remembered the important figures of the project. The house construction project is costed in its complete realization, at the sum of 107 731 799 FCFA or 184 801, 644 USD excluding taxes, because being a non-profit organization, we are not subject to that-this.

The shell = 66 682 988 XAF or 114 391, 48 USD

The second work = 41 048 812 XAF or 70 417, 810 USD

We have already collected the sum of 46,341,494 XAF or 79 503, 968 USD

We still need the sum of 61 390 306 XAF or 105 333, 90 USD

It will still take the sum of 20 341 494 FCFA or 34 915, 678 USD, to push the structural works to their end. Once this phase is completed, there will come that of the second work, which rhymes with finishes. We hope that the world health situation will improve very quickly, leading to stability and a return to economic growth. This is so that you can calmly meet your own needs and think of us, because we have lost funding possibilities following the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. We continue to count on you in the hope that things will go well, so that the work can continue without interruption, until their completion.
