2014 Youth Track
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we are able to provide seven scholarships to high school students from around the country to attend the 2014 National School-Based Health Care Convention in Seattle, Washington this summer. These youth will have the opportunity to develop leadership and advocacy skills, meet other student leaders who are passionate about adolescent health issues, and network with experts in the school-based health care field.
CVS Caremark Charitable Trust and the School-Based Health Alliance Announce New Directions for School-Based Health Grantees
School-Based Health Alliance, in partnership with CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, aim to create the next generation of school-based health centers (SBHCs) through the New Directions for School-Based Health Grants initiative. Funded by CVS Caremark Charitable Trust and administered by School-Based Health Alliance, grants were awarded to nine SBHC programs in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, and Texas.
The initiative will build the capacity of the school-based health care field to become integrated and active participants in the larger health care ecosystem through policy and practice solutions in four focus areas: 1) Adopting a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) practice; 2) Building a financially sustainable business model; 3) Implementing public health strategies to achieve population-level change; and 4) Engaging parent and youth consumers to improve health literacy and self-management.
