Thank You for Your Support!
Thank you for supporting the School-Based Health Alliance. We are so close to our $24,000 goal! With the end of 2013 quickly approaching, we hope you will consider us when making your year-end donations.
We have two great updates for you in this report. The first involves an exciting meeting our Youth Advisory Council held in Washington, DC. The second is an update on the 2014 National School-Based Health Care Convention, to be held in Seattle, Washington.
Our Youth Advisory Council Meets with U.S. Secretary of Education
The five members of the School-Based Health Alliance’s Youth Advisory Council travelled to Washington, DC September 26 to meet with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, along with members of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Council provided the Secretary with insight into how the Affordable Care Act affects young people and offered suggestions to the administration on how they can encourage young people to enroll in the upcoming health care exchanges.
152 Abstracts Submitted for the 2014 Convention
Our call for abstracts closed for the 2014 National School-Based Health Care Convention closed on November 12. This year we received 152 abstracts, more than we received for the 2013 convention. We are reviewing the abstracts now and are excited to announce the workshops and presenters for the 2014 convention. Stay tuned for more information!
