In overcrowded informal camps across northern Syria, the lack of clean water infrastructure forces displaced families to rely on unsafe, stagnant water sources. During high-temperature months, children suffer disproportionately from preventable waterborne infections due to unhygienic water storage.
Stepping in with a sustainable solution, BESME INSANI constructed localized water storage points and managed daily filling routes using heavy-duty water tankers. Our team installed clean water tanks equipped with multiple taps across central camp locations, guaranteeing continuous and safe water collection for displaced families.
The project provided safe, tested drinking water to thousands of camp residents, significantly reducing diarrhea cases and skin infections among young children. Establishing organized water points ensured equitable water access without crowding or long waiting hours for women and children.
Community leaders expressed profound appreciation, noting that having safe, accessible water points brought health security and relief to the entire camp. Ensuring reliable drinking water is fundamental to preserving human life in emergency settings.
