2025 Partial Results – English Version
Instituto da Criança is a social manager that has been generating positive social impact and transforming lives in Brazil for 31 years, by connecting companies and people to social projects and strengthening civil society organizations. In 2025, the organization continued to expand its reach with an innovative social business model and was recognized as the second-best social organization in Brazil (among 75) and 62nd in the world in the international thedotgood ranking, highlighting its governance, transparency, and social impact.
Overall 2025 results (to date)
- So far in 2025, Instituto da Criança has directly managed 52 social projects, both its own and those of partners, reaching more than 200,000 service attendances in education, citizenship, social assistance, and community development.
- The integrated network now includes more than 1,000 social organizations and movements across 24 Brazilian states and the Federal District, which amplifies partnerships, resource mobilization, and knowledge sharing.
Operating model and fundraising
- The organization operates a non-profit, innovative social business model, raising funds through campaigns, corporate partnerships, and strategic advisory services in social responsibility provided by the Consolida area, which supports companies in project management and the use of tax incentive mechanisms.
- Donation channels include the Cardápio Solidário restaurant network, the “Doar é da Nossa Conta” campaigns, and mechanisms such as Salário Solidário, Checkout Social, and SKU Social for e-commerce donations, in addition to pro bono strategic partners and highly engaged shareholders who help sustain the Institute’s activities.
Consolida: professional project management
- In 2025, Consolida supported companies through reading promotion, education, social infrastructure, territorial diagnostics, income generation, and corporate volunteering projects, always with technical management, monitoring systems, and measurable impact indicators.
- Highlights include the five-year partnership with ALLOS through the “Leitura para Todos” project, which has delivered over 190,000 donated books; the “Vizinhança do Saber” (Instituto Cyrela) construction works in schools in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, with 12 construction sites and more than 4,500 people benefited; and the management of school tuitions, tutoring, and young apprenticeships in partnership with MDC, Grupo ITER, and GSK, involving dozens of children and 28 young people hired out of 131 candidates.
Social diagnostics and data intelligence
- Instituto da Criança’s social diagnostics help companies and funders understand local contexts and communities, guiding more effective decisions for social investment and impact mitigation.
- In 2025, the team conducted field research in Cidade do Aço (Dimensional Engenharia, 62 interviews), Guarulhos (Movimento União BR and KSM, 106 interviews), and Santa Marta community in Rio de Janeiro (Effect Sport, 47 interviews), and implemented the Public Awareness and Positive Coexistence Program along NTS’s Pipeline Corridor in six municipalities, always prioritizing community voices and evidence-based recommendations.
Corporate volunteering and engagement
- The Institute promotes meaningful corporate volunteering experiences that strengthen ties between companies, employees, and communities while creating tangible benefits for local organizations.
- In 2025, key actions included six simultaneous volunteer activities for Haleon, with 168 volunteers, and a large-scale event with 354 Davines volunteers producing 156 human-hair wig donation kits, as well as a Christmas renovation project with Prio in a partner organization’s facilities.
Private social investment and tax incentives
- As a social manager, Instituto da Criança supports companies in the strategic and safe allocation of tax-incentivized resources, from project design to governance and reporting, maximizing social returns.
- In 2025, long-term partner Total Energies sponsored 13 projects with monitoring and management support from Instituto da Criança; in addition, partners such as Squadra Investimentos, Caixa Vida e Previdência, Fairmont, Vast, Logbit, Helexia, Vetanco, Ancar, and BRQ jointly sponsored 14 social projects through tax incentive laws, relying on the Institute’s fundraising and technical support.
Calls for proposals, awards, and strategic alliances
- The organization continued its partnership with TAG, managing the call for proposals process, reviewing 858 applications, and coordinating the ICMS Project Bank, thereby strengthening the pipeline of qualified social initiatives nationwide.
- Instituto da Criança also continued to manage the Isabel Salgado Award with sponsor Banco do Brasil and partner Maria Clara Salgado: seven projects were sponsored, 15 people were trained, and five initiatives received seed investment, reaching 11 Brazilian states.
Project portfolio and operational management
- In 2025, the Institute managed six projects sponsored by Sítio Forte, a family office committed to social development, and advanced productive inclusion initiatives such as “Partiu Aprender e Empreender” (with Movimento União BR) and “Vai Começar” (an agreement with Petrobras in São Paulo).
- Together with União BR, the Institute managed the Disaster Fund for Zurich and Zurich Santander, supporting more than 15 projects in 15 states and benefiting over 50,000 families and 131,000 people affected by emergencies.
Partner network and direct services
- The Institute also provides financial and operational management for partner initiatives, ensuring strong governance and accountability.
- In 2025, this included projects such as Quadras do Futuro (54 youths), Anjos do Alívio (28 services), and an organizational network supported by Grupo Sendas, as well as the Educaday project in Maré (Rio de Janeiro), which served 47 students.
New projects and in-house programs
- New initiatives joined the partner network in 2025, such as Instituto Recarregue-se, which serves 200 children, and Pet Protege, focused on supporting animal protectors and their work.
- Instituto da Criança’s own programs include Adote, which supported 125 students with tuition sponsorship; 15 editions of the Agente que Aprende initiative; more than 3,000 items donated to partner organizations; and 52 entrepreneurs trained through PRODES to strengthen income generation and social entrepreneurship.
Social assistance and citizenship training
- The social assistance program handled 229 individual requests and carried out three construction projects in social organizations and households, improving protection and living conditions for vulnerable families.
- The Azul Fraterno program is supporting four children and youth with autism; with the support of MPT Rio, the Espaço Cidadão initiative trained 207 people in 10 social organizations; and seven social projects received financial support thanks to partner sponsorships.
Outreach, events, and advocacy
- In 2025, Instituto da Criança increased its participation in key forums and events related to philanthropy, impact investing, and ESG, contributing perspectives grounded in practical experience and collaboration networks.
- Activities included a Children’s Day celebration with Multiplan, a toy donation drive with the mini-market chain Peti, BQ coffee meetings that help fund milk for children, a stage at Rio Innovation Week, participation in FOLGA (SINDRIO’s Leadership Forum in Gastronomy), presence at the Doce Maravilha Festival and the third “Le Cordon Bleu” Expo, participation in the Youth Forum for Climate and Environment, an event at Abrasel, and the first Income Tax Seminar as a social investment strategy in partnership with Instituto 12.
Recognition and team
- In 2025, Instituto da Criança received the Women-Friendly Company seal from the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro and continued to climb the thedotgood ranking, which recognizes organizations with strong people-centered governance, innovation, and social impact.
- The Institute’s achievements are only possible thanks to the dedication of 46 staff members and 71 volunteers in 2025, as well as the trust of companies, individual donors, and partners, who are helping build a more just, supportive, and inclusive future for children, youth, and communities across Brazil.
