Summary

Our project addresses the critical gender gap in STEM skills by providing girls with the knowledge and tools to become creative leaders and innovators. Through hands-on practical workshop sessions linked to various industries, we help girls understand the future of work and how to apply STEM skills to solve real-world problems. By engaging in these workshops, they become aware of future needs and develop the mindset to lead and create solutions for themselves and their communities. Historically,

Challenge

Our community faces a challenge of underrepresentation of girls in STEM careers. Studies indicate that around 80% of the jobs in the 21st century are yet to be created, many of which will be STEM-related. Sadly, girls are not showing much interest in pursuing these careers due to a lack of proper structures that fail to connect educational content with industry-linked opportunities. This disconnect leaves them unprepared for the future job market & unaware of the of the vast potential that STEM.

Solution

Our project aims to address this issue by providing targeted, hands-on workshop sessions that are directly linked to various industries. These sessions not only educate but also inspire girls to see the relevance and excitement of STEM careers. By engaging in practical, real-world activities, they can better understand the future of work and develop the skills necessary to thrive in it.

Long-Term Impact

The long-term impact are the girls in our community who have historically been denied these opportunities. By giving them the tools and knowledge they need, we empower them to become creative leaders and problem solvers. This not only benefits the girls themselves but also their families, schools, and the entire community. By fostering a generation of female innovators & leaders, we contribute to a more inclusive and dynamic workforce that is better equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
