Education does not stop in Niños de Guatemala... We have entered the last trimester of the school year and are very close to reaching this year's educational goals.

Thank you for your support, thank you for being part of the family and the history of our more than 580 students who are seeing their goals and dreams come true.

In the last few days, the students had a talent show where they demonstrated their skills and what they have learned and prepared together with their teachers.

Also, we have had the opportunity to initiate projects such as the art workshop and a vegetable garden as part of the comprehensive educational process we work with students and families.

We are very excited about this and look forward to sharing more information with you soon.

At Niños de Guatemala, we truly believe that a high-quality education is the best tool to break the cycles of poverty. We provide high-quality education to over 530 students yearly, through our 3 schools. We offer both elementary and secondary bilingual education. Every year we receive about 50 new students at our schools where their futures are transformed through a holistic approach to education that includes Spanish literacy, math and science, technology skills, English language competency, and the building of emotional intelligence which will serve them in all areas of life.

As a complement to our academic programs, we offer our students access to a psychology professional and a social worker on-site at school, a monthly school for parents, and a balanced daily meal. Their balanced daily meal allows them to develop their learning abilities at a higher potential. Nutrition is so closely interconnected with learning that we wish to expand our nutritional program to two daily meals per student in the next two years.

Thank to generous donors, sponsors, volunteers and community-tour takers, our programs have continued to grow. Thanks to your support we can continue to educate children, youth, and families in vulnerable situations, beyond the traditional classroom.

Thank you for being an important part of Niños de Guatemala through your generous and continuous donations!

Sincerely,

Patricia Starrs

Dear Friends:

2022 was a year of big changes for all us, we want to take a momento to remember some of our highlights and good times.

  • Last year we were able to have students return to classes in hybrid mode, according to the Guatemalan government stipulations due to Covid restrictions.
  • Thanks to your donations we were able to continue providing our 570 students with holistic education and supporting them with their classroom materials and a meal during school hours.

2023 is here and we are happy to be back with new goals and more energy than ever. Classes will start on January 11th and we cannot wait to have our students back full-time in the classrooms. We have extended their time in school to start recuperating the lost learning, with extra classes focusing on communication, English, and math.

This year we will prioritize math and bilingual activities and will provide our students with the necessary educational tools. We will launch a new teacher development program so they can have a better impact on our students' learning. Our program "Breaking the Cycle of Poverty" has allowed us to operate and maintain our three schools and staff and benefit our 570 students and their families.

Thank you again for your continued support. We are looking forward to seeing what the next months have in store for us!

We are delighted to have our students back in their classrooms, and to be able to give them a better education every day. They have classes from Monday to Friday, in two different groups.

We are approaching the end of the year and since day one your donations have had a big impact on our students’ lives. With creative teachers, and technology, we have been able to keep the learning on track.

Now in the ‘new normal’, our students are happy interacting with each other face-to-face, and improving their social skills at the same time. With the resources to implement tailor-made teaching ‘bubbles’, we are confident our kids and teachers are safe from the spread of covid-19 too.

Thanks to your donations and your constant support in Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, we have been providing nutritious meals as well as helping teachers with materials for their classes. From talking to our social workers we know that most of our students in the past have gone to school on an empty stomach; hardly ideal conditions I’m sure you will agree, for focusing and concentrating on lessons. Fortunately, the healthy meals we now provide not only deal to hunger pangs, but also enhance the classroom experience for our students. We are indeed very grateful for your financial assistance to make this happen.

We invite you to keep donating to this cause to ensure a bright future for our students. No matter the size of your contribution, every bit matters. And a reminder too that our doors are always open to you, so you can come and see first-hand the wide-ranging impact of your support. You can also follow our projects and activities on our social media networks, and get involved in one of our unique tours, Spanish classes, Sponsorship programs, and consider the various ways you can contribute to Niños de Guatemala.

With sincerely thanks.

Gracias a todos!

Our students are finally allowed to come back to their classrooms in a hybrid mode which even though is not going back to normal, is a new opportunity for new beginnings. They will work in small groups or bubbles and with the Covid restrictions. Breaking the Cycle of Poverty has been helpful to operate and maintain our three schools running, which benefits the 550 students of Niños de Guatemala.

Since the beginning of the pandemic your donations have helped us continue giving education even though we could not have them in their classrooms. By using google classrooms, meet calls and worksheets we were able to keep looking for a better future.

Now that we are adjusting to our new normal, you have helped us prepare and receive our students with open doors. By having the resources to implement bubbles and having all the supplies to reduce the spread of covid-19 our kids can go back to school.

Thanks to your support we have been able to continue pursuing a better education with healthy snacks and with our kids back in classes. AtNDG we know that a full stomach implies a full concentration for classes and that's why we are always looking for ways to provide healthy food for all our students.

We invite you to keep donating to this causeand our doors are open for you, so youcan come and seethe impact of your support. You can also follow our projects and activities at our social media networks andyou can get involved in one of our amazing tours, Spanish classes, Sponsorship programs and our various ways you can contribute to Niños de Guatemala.
