Dear Friends:
2022 was a year of big changes for all us, we want to take a momento to remember some of our highlights and good times.
2023 is here and we are happy to be back with new goals and more energy than ever. Classes will start on January 11th and we cannot wait to have our students back full-time in the classrooms. We have extended their time in school to start recuperating the lost learning, with extra classes focusing on communication, English, and math.
This year we will prioritize math and bilingual activities and will provide our students with the necessary educational tools. We will launch a new teacher development program so they can have a better impact on our students' learning. Our program "Breaking the Cycle of Poverty" has allowed us to operate and maintain our three schools and staff and benefit our 570 students and their families.
Thank you again for your continued support. We are looking forward to seeing what the next months have in store for us!
We are delighted to have our students back in their classrooms, and to be able to give them a better education every day. They have classes from Monday to Friday, in two different groups.
We are approaching the end of the year and since day one your donations have had a big impact on our students’ lives. With creative teachers, and technology, we have been able to keep the learning on track.
Now in the ‘new normal’, our students are happy interacting with each other face-to-face, and improving their social skills at the same time. With the resources to implement tailor-made teaching ‘bubbles’, we are confident our kids and teachers are safe from the spread of covid-19 too.
Thanks to your donations and your constant support in Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, we have been providing nutritious meals as well as helping teachers with materials for their classes. From talking to our social workers we know that most of our students in the past have gone to school on an empty stomach; hardly ideal conditions I’m sure you will agree, for focusing and concentrating on lessons. Fortunately, the healthy meals we now provide not only deal to hunger pangs, but also enhance the classroom experience for our students. We are indeed very grateful for your financial assistance to make this happen.
We invite you to keep donating to this cause to ensure a bright future for our students. No matter the size of your contribution, every bit matters. And a reminder too that our doors are always open to you, so you can come and see first-hand the wide-ranging impact of your support. You can also follow our projects and activities on our social media networks, and get involved in one of our unique tours, Spanish classes, Sponsorship programs, and consider the various ways you can contribute to Niños de Guatemala.
With sincerely thanks.
Gracias a todos!
Our students are finally allowed to come back to their classrooms in a hybrid mode which even though is not going back to normal, is a new opportunity for new beginnings. They will work in small groups or bubbles and with the Covid restrictions. Breaking the Cycle of Poverty has been helpful to operate and maintain our three schools running, which benefits the 550 students of Niños de Guatemala.
Since the beginning of the pandemic your donations have helped us continue giving education even though we could not have them in their classrooms. By using google classrooms, meet calls and worksheets we were able to keep looking for a better future.
Now that we are adjusting to our new normal, you have helped us prepare and receive our students with open doors. By having the resources to implement bubbles and having all the supplies to reduce the spread of covid-19 our kids can go back to school.
Thanks to your support we have been able to continue pursuing a better education with healthy snacks and with our kids back in classes. AtNDG we know that a full stomach implies a full concentration for classes and that's why we are always looking for ways to provide healthy food for all our students.
We invite you to keep donating to this causeand our doors are open for you, so youcan come and seethe impact of your support. You can also follow our projects and activities at our social media networks andyou can get involved in one of our amazing tours, Spanish classes, Sponsorship programs and our various ways you can contribute to Niños de Guatemala.

As we all know, 2021 was a challenging year at a global level. Which led many organizations around the world to center their donations and income into what's truly necessary and try to maintain projects for what is worth fighting for. At Niños de Guatemala we were able to keep our dream running and it was possible thanks to you and your generous heart, so beforehand, thank you so much for showing your support and kindness to our organization.
The center of our work are our students, in 2021 we prioritized having the three schools efficiently working and providing to our students with the necessary educational tools. As a whole, Breaking the Cycle of Poverty was helpful to operate and maintain our three schools, which benefits the 550 students of Niños de Guatemala. The expenses covered with this project were garbage removal at our three schools, which is not a public service in Guatemala as well as water and electricity bills, workforce especifically to prepare teacher´s cubicles as the new working modality demands having a cubicle covered by glass and wood at a safe distance between each other and maintenance and reparation of water pumps at Nuestro Futuro and El Porvenir schools, as in rural areas water becomes a scarce resource, so it was vital to repair the two water pumps in order to provide with water both schools. These were our priorities in order to be ready to receive the kids back in presence for this school year.
Thanks to all, with your support and solidarity we were able to cover and prioritize these expenses in 2021 to continue providing school facilities to our students and make sure we are ready to receive the kids this school year with all of the necessary goods and services.
We invite you to keep donating as well as following our projects and activities at our social media platforms and see how you can get involved in one of our amazing tours, Spanish classes, Sponsorship programs and our various ways you can contribute to Niños de Guatemala

NDG students are still not allowed to go to school due to the risk of getting infected with COVID-19. This situation has pushed our team to keep education running even with the families limitations.
What started as a program only for our oldest students, soon became a source of new ideas that spread within the primary schools. The staff has striven to find ways to connect with their students through the internet, and they have found ways through whatsapp and facebook groups, where they can upload content for their students to interact with.
Even if it has been pretty challenging we see this as an opportunity to provide our young students with digital education, therefore improving the long term impact on them.
In other news, we continue with the food and supplies program at least once a month thanks to generous donations from some of our supporters.
