Provide Care for 30 Vulnerable Children in India

Dear Friends at GlobalGiving,

All of us at Blossom remain immensely grateful for your ongoing support. As we settle into 2023 the children remain in good spirits and health which we hope to take into the months ahead!

• Volunteers

February brough many smiles with the help of our lovely volunteer Puskarini. 

The volunteers have helped allow the children to develop in a creative way. Having to communicate in English has also greatly improved language skills, almost all of the kids can have a basic conversation in English with some able to read and write! 

• Clean earth project 

We initiated a ‘Clean Earth Project’, teaching the children about the importance of a plastic free environment as we cleaned all the plastic out of the farm areas. 

We feel in today’s global climate crisis is it important the children understand the value of maintaining a healthy world, showing this in practice as well as in the classroom.

• Rooftop herb garden 

Your generous contributions have also helped towards the growth and maintenance of our rooftop herb garden. The kids have loved planting and looking after the herbs and vegetables and being able to watch their efforts grow into a beautiful garden. We are also able to use garden produce to cook delicious and nutritious food!

• Looking to the future

In the coming months we have some exciting developments for the continual improvement of Daypring. We are planning to renovate our kitchen, enabling a more welcoming, social space for communal mealtimes in the mornings and evenings. We will also have new volunteers joining us in March, bringing new experiences and opportunities for learning which we are all excited to see! 

We cannot wait to share updates on our progress in the coming months that without your support would not be possible.  All the children at dayspring and the team at Blossom trust would like to thank you for your great generosity on our journey to better health and education accessibility for all.

Dayspring Home continues to work toward a world in which children and women are empowered and supported, and as a result, we continue to actively operate in Virudhunagar, India, to provide children with a better life.

Thanks to your precious and constant support we have reached October 2022 and all the children living at Dayspring Home are living in good conditions. With your financial contributions and the care of Dayspring Home’s dedicated and loving staff, the children have been able to continue their normal day-to-day life during the month of October-- watching movies, playing games on the Dayspring grounds, going to school and doing homework together and most of all this month celebrating the festival of lights-Diwali

Celebrations

Birthdays, holiday Celebrations and festivals are very important for kids in general , but most especially for those who suffered from poverty, chronic illnesses, family loss and traumas. At Dayspring Home we pay great attention to the emotional needs of our children and never forget about special days and sharing these festivities with them. In October, the children celebrated the Deepawali Festival  at the children’s home.

 As a tradition, Blossom members together with our officials  celebrated Diwali with dayspring children. The children received gifts and spent the whole day celebrating the festival of lights.

Repairs and Renovations 

In the last month, constructors have been working tirelessly at the Dayspring Children’s home in an effort to see through the different repairs and renovations that are being made in order to improve the children’s comfort during their stay with us. As of today, we are happy to share that repairs at the dayspring home have been ultimated and the kitchen is now ready.
