BLOSSOM has now started providing Nutritients such as Eggs, Milk, Greens, to the TB infected children in Virudhunagar district, Tamilnadu, South India. We have selected first 10 TB children. We have tied up with the local area Milk man to supply 250 ml of milk everyday to each child, in order to ensure the milk directly consumed by the TB child beneficiary. The Blossom staff will pay the milkman through the DOTS Monitor. The same way, the grocery shop in the local area will give "An Egg a Day" and the payment will be made by us. Separate cards are maintained to ensure uninterrupted supply of the nutrient to the children.
The children and their family members, together with the DOTS Monitor and the Community Organiser feel so happy and proud to get these benefits. Particularly the DOTS Monitors who give medicines to the children at the stipulated timings regularly, even dont mind in meeting the children in their homes, despite the excess heat started here in this area, walk around the villages sometimes with bear foot, are happy now.
All the first 10 target TB Primary Complex children who are Xray / Mando Positive have started Category I DOTS Treatment, hence the Nutrition provided by various donors and agencies through Global giving, is apt and beneficial to the poor needy in the remote villages.
