Fifth report: Biochar bringing toxic land back to

By Veronica Agodoa Kitti | Project Leader

The project biochar bringing toxic land back to life could not fundraise adequate funding to implement the major activities.  Within this limitation however,  the donations amount from our few donors enable the project perform some activities.  Within the reporting period community members were engaged in   collection of crop wastes from the local communities. This crop wastes which could have been disposed of in an open fire to pollute the atmosphere will be converted into biochar to add to biochar stock  from the past activities .

Several tons of biochar (carbon) is needed to put into the toxic soil to convert the degraded land, through small scale gold mining, into arable land for the restoration of coffee and cocoa farms. We thank our donors for their kind support and future support to restore economic life to over 1000 families
